You take Hubys first year with Sutter where they miss the playoffs by two points and tell me if Huby playing anywhere expectations, they miss the playoffs? 0% chance.
The next season the team runs it back with Markstrom playing A+ and Kadri's resurgence and they miss the playoffs again.
Now they're in a full rebuild. Explain it to me.

Je ne sais pas pourquoi some have such a visceral hatred of him. It’ll probably remain a mystery.

I wouldn't. And now?
Your hate for the dude is just mind-boggling. We all want him to do better and live up to the contract, but that doesn't mean we have to #### on the guy every single day.

I'm not even mad .gif.
I was an early proponent of rebuilding and am happy they're fully tearing it down. I'll be mad 5 seasons from now if Huby is still here and the team needs the cap space.
For now, Huby is exactly where he needs to be. A $3m player signed at $10.5 to reach the cap floor? Multiple top-3 picks incoming

I literally do not want to him to live up to his contract. I want him to play even worse.

The worst part is that 2 years in, he's still blaming everything around him. It's a loser attitude.
He's on a bad team because he played so bad it forced the front office into a rebuild. There is literally no one on this forum that wouldn't give him away for future considerations to any team that would take him.

What are you even talking about? lol.
The problem with Huberdeau is Huberdeau, and not only has nobody denied that, Huberdeau himself said in the article it’s up to him to fix it. He didn’t blame anybody else.
There were also other problems, like the coach, the goaltending, the system, you know… everything. That’s why we fired the coach, traded the goalie, and traded 90% of the core.
I don’t know what is funnier, blaming the entire fortunes of the team on a single player, or the weird schtick we it’s you against “so many sympathizers” you made up in your head. I suppose it doesn’t matter because I’m laughing at both anyway. Some of y’all should get off the internet and go hit some rocks together for a few hours.

Yall need to chill lol.
He didn’t say anything wrong in the interview. Even his comment about the system changing I don’t think he was BLAMING the system. He knows it’s ultimately on him.
He’s showed promise of the player he once was. He will rebound.
It’s tough being a pro athlete eh. Getting a casual interview picked apart by anonymous fans online. As if anyone of us really know what’s going on behind the scenes.

100%.
We’ll all be weeping when [insert next captain of the Flames] hands the cup to a grizzled old Huby first.

He can rebound in Arizona. He’s just gotta show up and work hard. Nobody will miss that elite skill on the ice there.

It is still crazy to me that BT signed a 50 point player to the 14th richest contract in the league.

Huberdeau’s issue sure seems to be focus and intensity. Seems hard to believe that gets better at this point in his career but who knows. Being asked to play a more complete game really seems to have hurt him.
|
I'm not discarding it. I'm saying if he can oveercome having that kind of a slump (which he has done before), that would be the result, which is in line with his career.

I don't know, I think the #1C #1D and #1G are all more important players to the Panthers.
And even if you want to talk about wingers, Reinhart had 6 more points and 31 more goals than Tkachuk did.
Saying he is undoubtedly the Panthers 2nd most important players is just not true. There is certainly valid arguments to be made

i also tire of the blaming of others for his play, while Coleman and Yegor are out scoring 30 goals, Huberdeau is going pretty much a whole month with no points. Must be because of his solid play in the d zone, nope just look at his plus-minus. I am sure he is a nice guy but we cant acquire all the players he played well with or hire coaches who coached him in the past. yet that seems to be the solution for many, get Brunette as the coach and sign Duclair, all in the name of Huberdeau.

C'mon. When the contract was signed Huberdeau was coming off 115 points (and well over PPG in the previous 3 seasons).
Would you havethought it crazy if Treliving had signed Gaudreau to the same contract?

Reads like a self pity party.
Limited ownership taken for why things have happened as they have.
He literally blames having to play a more defensive system for the worst point crash in history...
Then implies he would like to be traded but knows the contract is too big of an anchor..
I'm sure it's hard for him watching the panthers win.
But have some ####ing pride and dont wallow in self pity, eapecially when were paying you almost 100 million.
Take ownership. Take command.
Weegar had said all the right things.
Easy to see why many fans aren't a fan.

The problem is Treliving traded and signed for him like a franchise player capable of carrying the team. He is not. He is just a fantastic support player in the right system
Now with the Flames rebuilding, I see no hope for Huberdeau. Expect 50-60 pt player if things go well.
