Glass 1/2 full Flames have 3 more points than the Greasers.

It was more than problematic, we are having a totally different PGT if the guy makes a save on a shot any Junior B goalie stops. We can bitch about the shootout choices, or Kadri being a total floating bonehead but Jacob Markstrom lost us this hockey game.

second guessing the shootout lineup is kinda dumb
2 guys hit the post, the other was the Flames best last season

1 player out of 6 scored in the shootout

If you want to be mad be mad they didn't put the game away earlier

I mean do you really think Mangiapane or someone was a sure bet? he is just as likely to fall down on this way to the net.

Just leave him in Washington.... Ride out his contract there with a bunch of one and done's.

Two posts hit in shoutout, one where goalie was cleanly beaten. Close game where it could have gone either way.

3 games in where the team is holding their head above water while they figure out their game and people are overreacting. That’s the same old story.

The correct answer was Honny Duberdeau because he bakes great cookies and is a wonderful human being, which is much more important than winning.

But your answer was also acceptable.

It’s because the writing is on the wall. Maybe Sutter wasn’t the right guy for this team, but it doesn’t matter. It’s evident we’re not talented enough.

It’s more than a 3-game sample size. It’s dejavu all over again from last season.

I honestly find it to be a toxic fanbase now. I've largely become indifferent to the team, but so many here actively hate the team top to bottom and post non-stop about it. Every topic turns to bitching about the team/players/GMs/coaches, past and present.

It just makes participating here a less enjoyable experience. I guess it's unreasonable to expect positivity, but I'm surprised how many posters post ad nauseam about how much they don't like watching the team. The solution appears to be so obvious...

This season is already worrying. Marc Savard please save these saps!

Can Huberdeau be sent down to the A for a "conditioning stint" to get some confidence back?

Calgary's "star" players are the worst in the league which wouldnt be too bad if they werent signed for as long as they are. Treliving might be the nicest guy ever, but he screwed this team hard.

The offseason was great from the perspective of renewed optimism and player relations. I thought Conroy and team did a lot of hard work to change the culture and focus on a revitalization of people relations. Darryl is obviously a very good coach but had to go for reasons we are all aware of.

However, I will say this in defense of the former coach. He knows hockey and what it takes to win championships. For whatever reason he was never sold on the makeup of the team for a variety of different factors. You could tell from early in the season that he knew this team wasn't built to contend or go on a deep run.

It would be interesting to hear his unfiltered take on makeup of this group (from a purely hockey standpoint). I'm guessing the main takeaway would be lack of skill and our top players not being able to outperform the other teams top players on any given night. There could also be other factors that we overlook or didn't even think of.

Regardless, he is gone now but the warts of this team still exist. We are paying top players far too much for what they bring to the table. Sure there's a long way to go this season and being 1-1-1 is certainly average at this early juncture, but concerning trends seem to have followed.

I personally don't see a scenario where this team wins on a frequent basis with Kadri and Huberdeau leading the charge. It hasn't happened yet nor does it look like it will happen. Let's hope the organization can see this if we continue to be lackluster and not give a guy like Lindholm another anchor of a contract.

Bright side: Squandered a lead after 20 minutes from squandering a lead after 40. Progress.

It's pretty clear to me, given that Conroy is trying to re-sign Lindholm, that these calls are being made from the very top.

i feel like Huberdeau wouldn/t dominate at the WHL level, to be honest. He seems like a mentally fragile guy, hes on the right team.
