That may be the hardest I've seen them play and still lose
All effort and no result.

The Flames dominated and deserved to win. And yet no shortage of goats for this one.
Vladar - he in fact cost them the game. Not going to OT if he makes routine saves
Backlund - horrible penalty at worst time
Zadorov - ridiculous decision on the PK
Kadri - usual selfish play in OT
Huberdeau - 2 on 1, goalie has no stick and a weak pass broken up the one defender. I thought he was an elite passer
Hanifin (I think) who inexplicably chases a guy behind the net in 3 on 3
Just absolutely sucks.

Get Kylington back, trade Hanifin and Zadorov for assets and turn them into Chychrun, and find a good skills coach for the shooters and a voodoo priest for the goalies and next year could be good.

Same thing that’s happened with the entire D corps all year. Game’s too fast now to play man D. Dmen are always confused on assignment. The number of times the goaltenders are left naked because of blown assignments is ridiculous. Definition of insanity is doing the same things over and over and expecting different results. Sutter has made zero adjustments.

Sadly, I think you're right. They just don't have it this year. Poor goaltending, an awful PP, and a lack of finish has sunk the season. It's unfortunate, because on paper they should be so much better than they've been.
With any luck they can find a way to fix a couple of these issues in the off season and then give it another try next year. We're stuck with this core, so hopefully they can find the right complimentary pieces to make the team more competitive.

Dude, this team peppers every goalie with shots and can't score. That's on the Flames.

And the Flames have played his system well for the last few weeks/months.
They deserve 9-10 more points since Jan 1 if you went by how much they controlleed the play in the 23 games since Jan 1.
But finding ways to lose like tonight, Vegas, Flyers, Sens, Chicago, Detroit and St. L, can't be overcome.

Horrific goaltending!
Needed to take advantage of a tired team that played last night.
Questionable decisions in this game, but zero doubt they need to trade anyone in this lineup that they can.
Season’s over…

The game turned when the coaching staff decided that the 4v4 was to be played as a penalty kill.
Playing not to lose is for losers. Can’t believe this group hasn’t learned that yet.

Is it me or shouldn’t we have some players that have speed in ot? Pelletier or Dube

The way Sutter is deploying in the OT, he is playing not to get scored on. Would be fun to see Duehr and Pelletier for a shift or two.
