Badly outshoot the best team in the league and still find a way to lose. The 2022-2023 Calgary Flames experience

Not many games they deserve 2 points and don’t get it , but this was one of them

Can't be that upset with that performance and effort. Just took one of the best teams in the league to OT and played well enough to win in regulation. You'll win a lot of games in a season if you play like that every night.

Backlund doesn't take an idiotic penalty and the Bruins look like they would've played out the string, they had zero life after the Flames took the lead.

Couple that with his abandonment in OT vs Vegas a week back...

Our goalies are mind bogglingly horrid.

It’s surreal. Almost comical.

I think going forward, unless the player's name is Kiprusoff or Vasilevskiy, I would not commit more than 3 years ever

That hit by Zadorov on the PK, not sure why

Markstrom losing the game in OT? That never happens.

At least this forces Treliving's hand to not be an idiot. Or does it?

I mean I just don't think you can give up 20 shots against the best team in the league and expect to win. Never mind only getting 57 shots on net.

The find-a-way (to lose) Flames.

Never understood why teams don't just start tackling the other team with less than 15 seconds to go in OT in the defensive zone.

That last play is the microcosm of the Flames this year!

At least Markstrom looked great in OT, hopefully that carries over.
Can’t fault him on either goal he let in. Vladar let in 2 muffins and there’s the game. Shouldn’t have ever been in OT to begin with.

Just accept it. When Kadri’s shot in OT goes off the shaft of Ullmark’s stick, it’s not meant to be.

Tonight, or this year.

In all fairness, the goals Markstrom let in coming into the game in relief were not really on him.

You're blaming him for a 2 on 0 against the best team in years?

Not going to dwell on OT because it's a bit of a crap shoot but the teams lack of elite skill really shows itself in OT.

Really though that game just makes me sad. This team has what they need to be good. They took the best team in the NHL to the woodshed for 60 minutes and just ran them over.

But once again just horrendous goaltending to start a game, and to a lesser extent a lack of finishing composure cost them the game.

This should have been a 3-1 Flames win. Instead it's a 4-3 OT loss and Flames have had more than their fair share of those this season.

Also Zadorov with just a brain dead decision to go for a big hit on the PK. Just idiotic.

Too much.

He's a 3rd line centre. Why is he the player on ice the most in OT? Put your offense skilled players out there? Where's Pelts that's been playing with energy all game long?

Sutter just does bizarre things that can't be explained.

The loss is on Vladar, but I absolutely HATE Sutter's player combinations in OT
