I tried to watch Huby a lot tonight and last game (well, as much as S'Net provided). My takeaways from this exercise:

He's lost defensively...often has no idea where to be in man-on-man coverage. Loses his guy frequently. Sometimes make complete bonehead passes in his own zone (a blind backhand pass right up the gut in the D-Zone last game that turned over to the Stars in a dangerous play).

In the O-zone, again, blind passes to...well....um...nowhere? I think he just throws it to where he thinks someone might be and they just....aren't. Time and again. Soft in corners...not as soft as Johnny, but sure not tough either. Often doesn't or won't shoot when he has a clear oppo.

It's a shame. He needs something different and oddly enough Looch has been OK in a way...but it's not a good mix.

It's the way he wants the team to play you'll get win just not the big offensive season.

Huberdeau will be fine he's too elite to fall off a cliff. He's creating chances in the slot. He's different type of player he doesn't go end to end like 13 he plays a different game.

What's sad is someone going into a post-game thread, for a game they didn't watch and have no interest in.

Between this and your racist BS you are really rolling today.

He has played the majority of games with Lindholm and Toffoli, and both of those guys are producing at their career norms with or without him on the line. I really don't think the problem is line mates here.

I think we need to start considering the possibility that he peaked last year and won't meet anything close to those expectations in Calgary, or that he just isn't a good fit.

I agree with the poster above who stated that Huberdeau just passes to high danger areas and hopes someone can find it. We've seen basically zero creativity from him as far as actually setting up plays goes. He might not be the reason why the team lost tonight, or on any given night, but he is the reason why this team hasn't stolen a few games here and there. If we are pegging him as a 2nd liner whose line mates have to help him more than he drives the line, the team is in big trouble. Especially once that $84 million contract kicks in.

Just seen the Alberta thread and indeed came out and let us know he's a racist and won't be doing anything about it.

Don't think I've ever seen someone acknowledge it so openly and not change.

So will you promise not to watch any again from now until Sutter retires?
