I'l give you Jarvis. But get back to me when any of those other guys are proven NHLers. Big swings for sure, but big swings results in a lot of misses. Guess what I'm saying is Carolina is getting more credit than I think they deserve here.

One of the weirdest drafts I can remember as it feels like the Flames didn't even need to send anyone to Montreal given they are more or less paralyzed from making any trades and only had picks 59, 155, and 219. Even the picks were ho hum as at 59 they picked a player that has middle 6 potential and two other guys that are probably long shots. Pretty forgettable weekend for the organization. Hopefully next week is much better.

There's a few standouts IMO amongst the undrafted crowd:
D Spencer Sova: Good size, and breakaway speed. Selected 8th overall in the OHL Priority Draft. Moves the puck well, valuable in transition. 28 pts in 64 games is mediocre at best, but scouts think he can be an offensive D in the OHL.
D Rodwin Dionicio: 6'2",207lbs, 31 pts in 57 games. He was a first-round pick in the CHL Import Draft. Owns a heavy shot, and some offensive skill, and plays a good two-way game. Uses his frame to play a heavy game, but must improve his speed.
LW William Proos: 6'3", 197lbs, just missed last year's draft with a late September birthday. Plays a power-forward game, skates ok and forechecks hard. Had an eye-popping 41 pts in 19 J20 games, and added 21 pts (14 goals) in 13 playoff games. Yes, he's one of the older players in the draft, but those numbers are still amazing.

Sova sounds like a project worth a look-see. Can never have too many defensemen options.

Kind of cool that a Polish player got drafted. That doesn't happen a lot.

Do these guys need to go back in the draft next year, or can they become free agents?

In his defense, Erie was a bad team (4th worst in the OHL) with the 3rd worst goals for. That said, teammate Christian Kyrou managed to put up 60 points, so I'm not sure what happened there, but a lot more was expected of him. In the U-18 tourney though, he had 3 assists in 3 games-tied for 1st amongst D on team Canada, although his minus-4 was a team low.

You can sign any player that goes through the draft to an ELC. Such was the case with Phillippe Myers, who the Flyers signed after he attended their camp (and Flames camp), after not being chosen in the draft.

I was just reading up on undrafted LHC Markus Vidicek of the Sudbury Wolves-he's a little slight, at 5'10" and 154lbs, but he plays a very well-balanced game, putting up impressive offense (65 pts in 68 games, 4 goals and 5 pts in 5 playoff games), while not sacrificing his defensive game. Great positioning, smarts, and stickwork. High IQ, good vision and skill-even has a good work ethic, and forechecks well. He's a good skater too. He turned 18 in March, so what is missing?

Height and weight mean a lot to the GMs not able to move past a potential hurdle. Personally I think that 5'10 is the new 6'0, and once a player is into a good weight training program, weight shouldn't be an issue. I actually think that drafting underweight players with high skill in later rounds is a very good strategy.

Only if the player played the entirety of the previous season in North America.
Remember when the Oilers weren't allowed to sign Tkachev after he went undrafted because he had played some games in Russia the previous season before coming over to the QMJHL?
Also, the player must be signed prior to the start of the following season or he must go through the draft again the following year (if he's not over-age for that draft).
Of the three players listed, Sova and Dionicio both played in the OHL last season, so they could be signed to an ELC this summer. Proos played in Sweden and is ineligible to be signed.
