SNET actually just piggybacks off the other broadcast for these away games they don't send a crew to.
So TNT showed the exact same series of cuts and replays.
It was a second of Stone followed by Eakins making faces. No high fives along the Flames bench. Regardless, brutal directing.

Gaudreau is +51 with 97 points

If he name was something else he would be wining the Selke in a unanimous vote

It's literally once every 10-15 years that we are treated to a performance like this. Imo he's having a better year than even Iginla ever had ... and he was the best player in the world for 2 or 3 years. The only comparable forward seasons in franchise history are Iginla's 52 goal year, Fleury's 104 point year, Lanny's 66 goal year and Nilsson's 131 point year. +51 is a generational achievement. His 70+ even strength points is borderline incomprehensible. If he played in Toronto, New York or LA the hype would be tripled

Nah.

Selke guys are generally among the best PK guys in the league as well.

JG doesnt play that role.

He should certainly be among Hart finalists though.

Lindholm should definitely be a finalist at this point.

36 goals, +48, plays PP & PK, is the center on one of the best lines in hockey.

If there are 3 players more worthy than him to be a finalist for that award, well then...........that would be impressive. I have no idea who those 3 are though.

Nice to get a couple wins in Cali, but the Flames certainly haven't been dominating teams lately. Not like they were earlier when they were red hot. I guess I shouldn't expect them to dominate like that all the time, but I thought they might against a weak Ducks team.

A little worrisome with the playoffs approaching, hopefully they can find that extra gear again soon.

As good as anyone else has been this year, Bergeron is running away with the Selke. He's having one of the best defensive seasons of all-time.

Gaudreau is +51 because he's been good defensively, while putting up an all-time great offensive performance at 5v5. With Gaudreau on the ice, we're scoring 4.88 goals/60. In the last decade, that's 2nd only to 2013 Crosby, who missed 12/48 games and still almost won the Art Ross. Gaudreau would probably still be +40 if he didn't back-check just on the strength of his offensive play.

Dube-Ruzicka-Toffoli
Lucic-Carpenter-Lewis

I'd like to see that tomorrow. Swap out Ruzicka for Jarnkrok is he's ready to go.
I feel like the best lines were obvious before we got Jarnkrok:

1st
Jarnkrok - Backlund - Coleman
Mangiapane - Ruzicka - Toffoli
4th

I dont understand. Enjoy this. It I'd unlikely to go so well during the season again for a long time. No need to qualify your enjoyment or withhold feeling good about something wonderful that's completely beyond your control.

He's having a historic season and should run away with it. From the Athletic.

The Selke Trophy has been a write-off for the entire season and that hasn’t changed. It’s still Patrice Bergeron’s world, we’re just living in it.

The “DEF’ is essentially his defensive rating, which is his ability to suppress five-on-five expected and actual goals, as well as shorthanded expected goals. The way to read it is that Bergeron is essentially plus-26 from his defensive abilities alone — an absolutely massive number. It’s a result of the Bruins allowing just 1.41 expected goals against per 60 with Bergeron on the ice (first), 1.65 actual goals against (22nd), 0.44 expected goals against per 60 fewer relative to teammates (10th) and 0.61 actual goals against per 60 fewer (25th). That he’s putting up such incredible defensive results on an elite defensive team is remarkable, creating an enormous impact that isn’t even close to being matched.
That said Backlund comes up 3rd in his rankings and Lindholm 7th but they are way behind Bergeron. Also believe it or not Rasmus Andersson is ranked 7th in their Norris rankings ahead of Fox which is a little surprising. He's having a good season but I didn't realize that good overall.

Good win! Hopefully they can figure out the lines soon (difficult with injuries) and get a bit more momentum heading into playoffs.

Truly, it's impressive.

But I just had to throw this nugget out there:

It's tied for the highest single season mark for a Flame ever, and the best +/- since Joe Mullen had +51 in 88/89, followed closely by +48 from Brad McCrimmon in 87/88, Theo Fleury in 90/91, and Elias Lindholm THIS YEAR.

As an aside, McCrimmon was truly a special player. Even during the high scoring 80's, as a defenseman, he was always very high into the plus column despite not being a massive scorer. He had an incredible year in 85/86 with Philadelphia, putting up a strong 56 points, but ended with a +86....are you kidding me?

Sarge was one of a kind.

He will win because he always wins and is having a good season. But that is a model that I doubt anyone here understands what goes into it. I can't imagine too many voters are going to vote based on some model they don't understand.
