Well, I knew Kylington. For whatever reason I also thought G was too. I guess just because of the name and the Flames liking Swedes. I never looked it up - I own it.

Haha I love it. I can see the Gudbranson thing. His last name could be Swedish for sure.

I just looked up Gudbranson, and I can't believe he was the 3rd overall pick in 2010 behind only Taylor Hall and Tyler Seguin!!

There’s a lot of Swedes and other Euros in the league with zero accent. You can hardly even hear Kylington’s. Landeskog has zero accent, from playing in junior. Finns also: Koivu had no accent really.

Started with Florida years ago when they were not good at all. Went to the Canucks for 2 years. Then amazingly traded 3 straights seasons in a row after that, every deadline pack up and move. Someone on the radio noted that perhaps this is the first really good team he's ever played for.

Nashville traded him to Anahiem which is how Sutter knew him. Sutter has a good eye even if he did suck as a GM lest we all forget.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under the impression Gudbranson is a Norwegian name, not Swedish, anyway.

He does have a bit of a point.

Danish names typically end in “sen”
Swedish end in “sson”
Norwegian end in “son”

With thousands of exceptions of course.

Old Danish/Norwegian. Gudbrand = "Sword of the Divine."

Gotta admit I can't believe OK is going to play hockey again soon. Not only did he look groggy/terrible skating off the ice but it looked like his shoulder went at an angle it's not really supposed to when he went into the boards. I just assumed he'd be gone for weeks. Shocked he's doing as well as he looks like he is.
