Flames don’t strike me as a team comfortable coming from behind in a series.

They're one of the best teams in the League at coming from behind in individual games. But yeah, that's a little different than shifting momentum in a series.

I just don't know what to expect. Hard to know how indicative these exhibitions are of what we see in the meaningful games.

Jets were not a playoff team and the Canucks were falling like a rock when the season ended

I'm not reading much into this exhibition, or any of them to be honest

Ehlers leaves, apparently hurt. Though he wasn't noticeably limping.

Yeah that ship sailed with Hartley and Hudler.

This high angle is the only one that seems any different from pre shutdown

Wish they had tried out a few more

Canucks appear to score by pushing Hellebuyck into the net after he robbed Horvat and Boeser on some good chances. I think you challenge this out of respect for your goalie.

Canucks on the board...puck is in before the push

Can you even challenge in this? I haven't seen one

No shutout for you, Hellebuyck. May you never stop another puck in that arena for the rest of the year.

Pretty sure you can challenge almost anything now.

It could be under exhibition rules, where I don't think they have challenges.

In exhibition though? I don't think you can in pre-season games

Yeah, that might be why.

Well, overall, this bodes well in that the Jets aren't going to be happy giving up almost 40 shots, but it bodes incredibly poorly in that Hellebuyck looks nearly unbeatable.

Okay, let's put a curse on all the teams that won their exhibition games 4-1.

Yet people always talk about the importance of the first game as if it's somehow special. It is not.

While game 1 is no more special than game 2, in a 5 game series, assuming the teams are equal, the team that wins game 1 has about a 69% chance of winning the series.

Game 1 is important because you can’t play game 2 first.

The shorter the series, the more important it is to win the first game.

In a 3 game series, the winner of game 1 has a 75% chance of winning the series.

Probably stating the obvious but I hope Flames coaching is really stressing that they need to bear down hard and finish their scoring chances. Hellybuck is going to be frustrating to try to score against.

Yeah like crash the net
Screens
Stop shooting right at the goalie
No more perimeter only shots
Crank up the G A F meter to FULL
Backcheck and help your D so they can get the puck out of our zone easily instead of being hemmed inside center the whole Fata ing game.....

Like that????
