It's clear people don't watch the games, and even not, his fancy stats are good. Lucic is a solid NHL player. Maybe not the player he once was, but most definitely a useful guy in your bottom 6 at least.
Yea, Button on TSN has a real hate for Lucic, I don’t think he is watching the games.

Lucic has been a breath of fresh air, a player that has been doing everything right.

Everyone just hates him because of his cap hit. If you look beyond that he is a great player.

Or...

He/ She are FANatical proponents of the Flames, at any cost, and , as such ,

have lost some objectivity.

Just some thoughts on tonights game

1) You give a team 9 power plays and they're going to sting you. I don't go into the whole ref bias theory stuff, but 9 calls to 2 is a bit ridiculous especially when I thought some of the calls were on run of the mill plays that both sides do a dozen times a game

2) This is the first Flames game in a long time where I thought they played with pace and actually looked like a fast team.

3) Lucic scoring was cool, but what I noticed is after that he had a give away at the blueline and busted his hump to get back and get into a really good back pressure position between the Sabre and the Flames net. I think he works hard every game. I can't be mad at Lucic or call him terrible, because I like his work ethic and his work along the boards, and yes even his passing. He's overpaid but what he does is getting under rated because of his contract

4) Johnny still doesn't look totally confident in what he's doing, lets hope tonight is a turn around for him.

5) Get out of here Buffalo bring on the Kings

This.

Probably 6 of the 8 were deserving calls. But with how much possession the Flames had and Buffalo chasing our guys, with an equal standard both ways there should've been more 4 on 4 situations at least.

Very strange for the dominating team to get out-penalized 1-8....

Johnny was playing great tonight. Crisp passes, moving his feet a lot, and what a snipe.

Great to see the purple gato back.

First time the team has played with pace and been fun to watch this year.

Yeah, I was glad Rittich made the save on the great scoring chance Buffalo got after the turnover caused when Hamonic’s stick was clearly knocked out of his hands

Man, if Bennett suits up this game is 10+ minors on Calgary.

The Flames can't blame their players for winning while going through an entire period short handed.

First game I've really enjoyed watching for the entire 60 minutes in a while. Score really flattered the Sabres, could have easily been 7-1. Flames need to sign Andersson to a long term deal asap before his value increases. Kid does everything well and appears to be a great team mate.

I'll take the Lucic for Neal trade any day of the week, mostly because his give a crap meter is so much higher. Plus he brings a dimension the team sorely needed and isn't easy to find. He is very strong on the puck in the offensive zone and d-men regularly pull the chute when they are going into the corner with him.

Also first game in ages where I noticed Jankowski in a positive way. Really good on the PK and could have easily had a couple of points.

They can encourage and continue to promote better defensive positioning as well as being more tenacious and disciplined.

Well, that was a lot of fun to be at and watch! What a game!

Loved being there when Looch got his first as a Flame. The 'Dome pretty soundly cheered him.

I thought that there was no way that lady was going to get a sniff at a new car, with the Flames being on the PK...but the breakaway and goal had the 'Dome just roaring, which was amazing.

Had a good laugh at Tkachuk hip-checking the ref.

Bit of a tense final 4 minutes, but man...what a blast tonight!

Go Flames go!

I thought they let off the gas the last couple minutes and tried to paint a Picasso when the net was open. You could see them starting to come and waves like we all know they can. A bunch of players looked like they got a bump with confidence. Just keep it going I say.

Regarding the refs, I just had to laugh because it was just rediculous at some points. I personally liked the Kylington cross check, which was a penalty, but the retaliatory cross check where the stick broke over Kylington was not a penalty.
