It sure as hell did.
If that pick had won the lottery the pitchforks and torches would be out in full force.

I'll take a proven #4 defenseman with the personality of a champion on and off the ice with a sweetheart deal over the lottery ticket equal to a 12th pick.

Maybe Flames finish one spot lower without Hamonic... and therefore they traded a top 3 pick for him... we'll never know... though it makes more sense to worry about that than it does to fret over where the pick ends up based on the standings WITH Hamonic

It’s not just the 12th pick. It’s also the 43rd pick. And a 2019 second rounder.

Do we have to beat this horse to death in every thread. Yes, it’s a 1st and 2 2nds. We have hamonic. Whether it’s is an overpayment or not, it’s done and cannot be reversed.

And it didn't, so I like the trade

Oh. I thought if we discussed it we could get it overturned.
It's a discussion forum. The pick in the trade was just in the lottery that this thread is discussing. You don't think it's gonna be talked about?

But it's better currency to fix real problems on this team rather than stacking it with more "top 4" D-men.
We need scoring, and we needed it last year too. It was just too much for what we're getting from Hamonic.

I feel bad for the team reps who were sent to witness the actual lottery drawing who have to be sequestered until the results are announced. I hope they brought in good catering for them, and an open bar.
