This should guarantee Tkachuk ends up in the East somewhere, unless he drops to Arizona at 5 (and they love their sons of former NHLers and brothers of Flames).

Seems like huge drop off after #1, the Russian guy had 40 goals in the OHA, is that a huge number now?

Andrei Svechnikov? 40g with the Barrie Colts is pretty good. Don't recall what his older brother put up with Cape Breton in the Q, but Andreis always been thought of as the better of the two.

I mean... Pierre Turgeon was pretty good. 1327 points. Not a lot of it with the Sabres unfortunately.

So maybe a premature question, what would we have to give up to draft Brady Tkachuk say at number 4?

If you want to win the Draft Lottery, the key seems to be to finish 1 point away from the Flames.

In 2016, the Flames won their final game to finish one point ahead of Columbus. Columbus went on to win the third overall pick. The Jets also won their final game of the season in a shootout to finish one point ahead of the Flames. The Jets went on to win the second overall pick.

This year, the Flames won their final game of the season to finish one point ahead of Carolina. Carolina has won one of the top-3 picks.

Great to see the Islanders pick not win the lottery. Also Canucks and Oilers our of the top 3. Great results.

Not worth it. I have this strong feeling that he's being overrated by a lot of people because of Matthew.

It's fine now. Neat to see NYI puck consecutively.

Not really a surprise, but Dorion says the Sens are keeping the pick this year instead of surrendering it to the Avs. Avs will get Ottawa's 2019 1st in the Duchene trade.
