5-0 loss to Arizona at home was them not being prepared for the game against a bottom team.
That was also the first game back from the mandated 5 day break where they couldn't practice. Very few teams managed to get wins after the 5 day break.

A good friend of mine is an Avalanche fan, the poor soul was commenting today that he would be upset if the Avs don't lose tonight. He said something to the effect of "I would feel bad if we gave up point to scrubs like the Oilers and did not lose to the Flames"
We are going to watch together tonight and he is going to cheer for the Flames.

Avs could be a dangerous team. They've earned 93% of their points with regulation or OT wins, unlike the horseshoe-fed Flames who only have 86% of their points earned in ROW.

Your advanced stats are incredible. Need to get you in front of the President of Hockey Operations and the GM.
BC Lotteries online gambling service (Playnow) is apparently not liking this matchup at all...it is not offering odds on tonight's game. The same goes for Phx @ St. Louis. This is actually quite rare, usually all games are offered, even lopsided ones.
GFG!
Yippee, odds have been posted, Flames are heavy favourites as expected. Blues too.
I think it is far more important to manage your starter's workload. Let's be honest: as soon as a team's backup goalie starts a playoff game it is a pretty good indicator that the series is already over.
Like MAF starting 2 games for Penguins in the last playoffs? I'm sure other examples can be found, but that was kind of an obvious one that came to mind.
One more Gio angry celebration from last game's OT winner:
AC, can you gif Monahan and Gio's double right arm pump to each other? Camera angle barely caught it on the reply (high cam behind the net). It was a thing of beauty, like a call and response from the two.
Gio was injured for all of the 2015 run so he must be getting pretty pumped to get there. Hasn't suited up for a playoff game since 2009, really looking forward to seeing him get in there. He seems like he will be a beast in the playoffs.

Monahan's OT goal the other night.
