He isn't alone on that. Many fans and analysts considered those moves to put the Flames on the track of contender. Elliott and Brouwer have sucked so it's easy for you to get on your soap box now.

This goes for all our AHL players. We a few having good seasons in the minors, left them enjoy that and keep developing properly. Keep them far away from this show. They are not going to be the make or break difference to get to the playoffs playing garbage minutes with the big club.

If I was Treliving I would send a real hard message to these players. Bouma, Chiasson, Jokipaka to the AHL (if they want to play in the NHL next year they have to start showing they care). Jankawski, Klimchuk, and Wotherspoon called up (Andersson and Kylington still too young). Wideman and Ferland in the PressBox for a few weeks. I think we are stuck with our goalies, maybe trade Elliot back to the Blues in return for our pick back.

If only it was that easy. You know, no such thing as waivers, salary cap, etc. Also, why have the potential to lose the players mentioned for nothing. Surely they can garner some return at the trade deadline. Also treating the players like that would reflect horribly on the team. Good luck attracting any decent free agents after that. The smarter play is to tough it out with the current guys and hope they pick it up, if not, there will likely be a mild housecleaning in the offseason.

It's fun to ride the highs of a season when the team is rolling and playing unbelievably well with amazing production from unexpected places like a 40% powerplay.

Yet when things aren't going well it's been nothing but fire and brimstone. Such is the life of being a fan of an inconsistent sports team. Some moderation and perspective is necessary for our sanity lest we all go insane.

Don't think that matters since Flames season is gonna be done after 82 games.

Get what you can at trade deadline and then make turnover for the bench bosses and players during the off season.

Don't know how much everyone is aware of what's going on in St. Louis this season, but the short version is Jake Allen has lost his confidence and the Blues decided enough was enough and Carter Hutton has taken over as the starter. He and his teammates shutout the Penguins tonight in Pittsburgh 3-0. Hutton has been up and down with his play, but that's a noteworthy and emphatic win for sure.

Flames have 2 goalies that have lost their confidence and so far the coaches and GM have decided to let them play through it...?

Yep, I'm aware of the fact that the team in from of Johnson and Elliott are also lacking confidence and are scoring has become a real struggle, but not making a single change sends the message, we don't seem to care about this season.

this is the year the Flames really need to call up several guys from the AHL, see what they have for next year. the fact that we are fighting it out with the canucks right now is really embarrassing. but they have a lot of guys looking to make their mark, much like Calgary did 2 years ago.

It's an easy argument when you don't pay them though.

If Brouwer wasn't a move to immediately make them better, Treliving must have had a gun to his head. His leadership isn't worth trying to develop talent for less money.
