It was meant to be "tongue in cheek" but I do agree, it would take more.

thing is a second won't even be close to getting it done right now. Unless that's the best offer they have by TDL they will want more.

Probably a lot. Like the Flames would want a lot back in a trade for someone that was a healthy scratch last night.

Probably a lot, no argument. But Duclair wasn't just a healthy scratch (unless it was some type of paper transaction that I am not aware of).

Strome got sent to junior. Oilers sent Pullivarvi to the minors. Those two would cost a lot in a trade. Duclair wouldn't fetch as much as those two, but he isn't going to be cheap.

Very, very different career trajectories to date. Duclair seems to have outperformed his draft status early.
Either way, I can't see it as first rounder and a good prospect type of deal.

FWIW, Stockton Heat assistant coach Todd Gill actually coached Duclair when he was Canada's Head Coach for the Ivan Hlinka.
edit found the McKenzie article:
http://www.tsn.ca/talent/mckenzie-th...clair-1.105742
Quote:
In August of 2012, MacKinnon and Duclair both were highly-touted members of Canada’s Under-18 team for the Ivan Hlinka tournament in the Czech Republic. MacKinnon centered the top line with Jonathan Drouin on one wing and Curtis Lazar on the other and led Canada to the gold medal; Duclair, meanwhile, ended up as the 13th forward, barely playing at all, falling into disfavor with a coaching staff led by Todd Gill. In the championship game, Duclair played no more than a shift or two.
|
Article also goes into the perceived attitude problems that helped cause him to fall in the draft.
