Sens definitely outplayed the Flames on a whole but Flames have never had a problem scoring on very few shots since this "current era" began in January 2014, IMO.

Now replace the stars with pucks getting deflected to the sides!
3rd string goalie, bro.

Backlund was on another level tonight. I think Hrudey is right, might be the best 3rd line centre in the league.

He's 53.33% on the dot right now with the modifications to how we approach faceoffs as a team. Considering that was the one knock on him, he's basically been playing as a low tier first line centre right now. Bergeron-lite.

Can't recall if Ribeiro or Fisher play third line for the Preds, but I either of them is better.

...I strongly disagree with this. Backlund is better, and younger.

Only disappointed in the fact that Stajan didn't score, and we didn't get the chant going... "Best trade ever!"

I’m always amazed these sportscasters and announcers can call the game with McDavid’s **** in their mouths all the time.

Man didn't realize Ferland had 5 points in 9 games. Still playing a nice physical, strong defensive game too, but now with offensive production.

If he has a strong season he might have to be the 7th forward protected.

I was at the game, so maybe it looked different on TV, but I thought the flames played pretty well except for some stretches in the first and second, mostly after penalty killing. Obviously the shots, scoring chances and possession tell a different story though, but they did catch up in Fenwick by the end of the game.
The Brodie/Engelland pairing looks a bit off sometimes.

Was at the game. Elliott and Hamilton were standouts.
Backlund may have only had 1 assist but he was the catalyst on his line.

Backlund is a second line center.

Im liking Ferland's game. Not quite as gangbusters as the Canucks series a couple years ago. Yet still physical, with a more measured, skilled approach. I think he is slowly finding his role on this team.
