If the Flames powerplay wasn't such an abysmal failure this year, that same article would be published praising Bennett because he'd have 8-10 more points.

I would say if the Flames weren't having a bad season, generally speaking, he'd have more points and would have been playing more confident. Powerplay issues aside.

Having said that, I saw nothing wrong with Bennett's game this season and that article is dumb. He'll grow and do nothing but improve over the next few years and become a top 6 player.

I think Bennett is gonna break out in a big way in the next couple years. Not the biggest prediction ever, but he's SO close on so many of the things that he does. Once he develops that NHL strength and comfort, it's going to tip the other way.

The problem is hopefully he isn't going to have a career derailed by injuries.

Are you kidding me?? If anything, Bennett's progression has been one of the few bright spots this season. Flashes of game breaking skill and solid progression as the season has gone along. !#@# you SI!!!

I don't see how the Flames rushed Bennett. He is at a near .5ppg pace and it is not like he could play in the AHL. He has nearly as many points as Monahan as a rookie in less games.
