You couldn't pay me a lifetime of savings to stay there the other six months of the year.

Jordon, or whatever your name is.
Allen Bill pond (around brag creek) is completely gone. The big flood in the early 2000s caused damage but the last one completely wiped it out.
You can still hike up that trail but it's a different route (a bit longer) because the river washed away the old trail.

Does that mean we'll get daily updates on the delivery status of your seasons tickets again?

Allen Bill, that's the one. I recall that flood and the damage in the early 2000's.. Sucks that it's completely gone now. So many memories fishing, cooking dogs, having a few beers on weekends.

Didn't the Flames break their play-off streak before Jordan lost his virginity? Glad to see things have moved on in that field.

I find the lack of Chief Chiniki in this thread, disturbing.

I think they also have a sister restaurant in Ranchlands now too which is easy to access if you take Crowchild out towards the mountains (Towards Stony trail which would be new to you). IMO their Beef sate pho isn't great, but their hoa version is pretty darn tasty.
Also, Pho Thanh on 64th Ave NE easily has the fastest freaking service I have ever experienced. Ordering of pho to consuming it is usually less than 3 minutes. Not the best pho out there, but decent and freaking fast.
For Sate Beef Pho, my favourite has always been Basil on 32nd Ave which is a kind of fusion Vietnamese food. Although I'm sure others can comment which is "best" sate pho.
A place like Saign Y2K has Sate beef, chicken and seafood pho too. Selection varies greatly from place to place.
Japanese Village has died down a bit as far as I know. The place to be now is Kinjo. But overall, selection has increased which is good. But you can't just choose willy nilly and expect good Sushi. The quality varies greatly. Japanese Village is still middle of the pack as far as I know.
Korean BBQ: Korean Village is the one I usually go to on 10th Ave SW. I on occasion go to Koreana and Seoul on MacLeod.
Alberta Beef. So good. Steaks, burgers... consume it all. Grab some prime rib.
I don't get the expensive meal comment. With where the USD is right now, everything is 25-30% off for you anyways.
Major changes for you would probably be the Bow tower; gentrification of areas such as East Village, Bridgeland etc.; Stony trail and the upgraded malls, Chiniki burned down and was rebuilt. Oh and the water don't have no fluoride now.

I Mean, I can't even, what? You can't be serious, right?
Good on you I guess for knowing what you like, but that is a statement I never ever thought I'd see. I do think teen burgers have significantly gone downhill in the last 10 years, so look forward to the post-trip review!
For what it's worth I think American A&W is way better then the Canadian version.

I think it's a want what you can't have deal.. Just like how I used to drive to Montana to buy American stuff like Cherry Coke or Reese sticks.. which I never buy now down here.
I actually eat pretty clean, but this trip is probably the last time up there until I bring my kids up there in 5-10 more years so i'm going HAM

No, that's not the issue.. I just I want to go places familiar if they're still around likely during the day for lunch. AZ in particular SUCKS when it comes to Asian/Ethnic food so I will likely be eating at one of the places you listed above every night for a dinner.
I wish Sizzling Wok was still around.. best food of all time.

Northland Mall is great. It's dead in there, so my 2 year old can ride the escalator up and down 50 times if he wants. Since nobody is there, he isn't bothering anyone.

Weird. I was fairly certain it was literally the cheapest houses in a southern US city that has a direct flight.
It turns out everyone is avoiding retirement properties in San Francisco because Phoenix is a better city.
