That day will come. A year might not be far off.

Hartley in a lot of ways is a lot like Sutter. You love him but his effect on the players is tough to determine and likely going to wear off after a while.

And once it does he has to be replaced. It isnt about being for or against him, liking him or hating him, its just the way it is.

Right. And Hartley seems to feel that Wotherspoon, Poirier, et al, were not playing at a level supporting more minutes. He obviously felt that Monahan, Gaudreau, Jooris, Bouma, Granlund to a degree etc. were.

He also has played Ferland through tough times both this year and last, and stuck with Bennett during a fairly long scoring slump. He has given Colborne lots of looks - which goes against your narrative and which you ignore because you don't like Colborne.

You act like Hartley had a better roster than Sutter. What about Iginla and Tanguary?

Hartley had a rebuilding roster while Sutter had a roster that was supposed to contend. Big difference.

Heck, we had some of that earlier this year when he refused to sit the appropriate players and our systems were being exposed. I'll say though that he won a lot of respect from me for making an example of Johnny/Mony/Bouma; superstar/franchise player or not, no one is above accountability from the team. The team always comes first.

We have a very important divisional game tomorrow. The absentees will be hungry to return and make their mark on the game, and the players who proved their mettle last game will have an extra bit of swagger in their game. I'm hoping for a solid, consistent team effort against SJ where we have multiple guys wanting to make a difference.

Bob Hartley is absolutely nothing like Sutter. The only thing they have in common is they are hockey coaches.

They had no intention to rebuild at the start of that first year. The roster Hartley had to begin the 2013 season was talented enough to be competitive, but it wasn't.

Sorta like 2015-2016.

I blame the special teams coach and the players more than Hartley. Goaltending has been no good tier most of the year and special teams have been terrible. I'm looking at BT before Hartley.

Lol. "Lets remove his playoff series victory, when he was the first coach in over 10 seasons to achieve that"

They recently got some second opinion advice on the power play. It has seemed a bit better since.

If you're up in arms as to how our youngsters are being played, I suggest taking a look at two polarizing teams, them being Edmonton and Detroit. Pretty sure nobody is blaming Detroit for being patient. their success is evident. Monahan and gaudreau have blossomed so far, and Bennett is hungry. Granlund is hanging around, and the way Hartley has handled Ferland has been life changing for the youngster.

Results may not totally be there but the posts from polak and granteed just make me shake my head. I don't think Hartley has ever written anyone off, and gio has the room. Sometimes the grass is greener I guess

There as a lot of this last year, but then the team did so well, those folks had to swallow the criticism. It's like they were waiting for the team to not do as well, so they could try the same argument.
