There are people who work in construction sites wearing jeans.....

I wonder if you will get flesh eating infections if you don't wash your jeans for months and years if you wear them constantly in industrial environment?

You get mesothelioma from asbestos or lockjaw from random sliver of steel.

Living, working, playing.

How often do you wash your jeans?

Are you trying to say that wearing your jeans 4-5 times a week and washing them 3 times is fine? Unless you have two prosthetic legs and live in a bubble those things are going to be nasty.

Unless I get them visibly dirty, I very rarely wash my jeans. It's completely unnecessary.

I'm saying exactly what I said....

The person you quoted said he washed his jeans approximately once every 6 months. You implied that washing every 1 or 2 wears was more acceptable so I asked WTF are you doing that warrants a wash every other time you wear them. Usually they just don't get dirty.

Like others, I wash my jeans when they get dirty, which usually isn't all that often considering I work in an office. Sometimes that's after 30+ wears, sometime they get spilled on 2 days after they've been washed so I wash them again.

That's not including working on the car or yard work... I have old ratty jeans for that use that usually get washed more often (when they're dirty).

If I understand this right in order to be "hip" (is that still a word?) one should start with unwashed jeans, preferably over $200 and wear the same pair every day for 2 years and not wash them? In the end the result is something that is more desireable and looks better than a $60 pair of jeans that someone washes after every 1 or 2 wears? Is this correct? The man who wears clean clothes is now lower on the societal chain?

Further more you can then sell these 2 year old un-washed jeans and someone else will pay extra to wear your dirty clothes?

Have I been left behind?

It's just one subculture/hobby for some guys who like their jeans.

The logistics around keeping a pair clean and wearable without washing it are a little odd.

For anyone that likes Levi's, The Bay has 501 and 505 jeans on sale right now for $39.99. If you buy online you can also apply promo code "Save" for an extra 15% off. Comes out to $33.99.

In practise I make it about 2 months of daily wear between washes before dumping a cup of coffee/plate of pasta directly into my lap.

Further to that Levis offers a 'raw denim' option (they call it Rigid) with their Rigid Dragon series... seen here:

http://www.thebay.com/webapp/wcs/sto...5-84313943--24

Extra dark denim, that is slightly stiff (its not that bad at all) that will fade and have decent contrast assuming you're easy on the washings.

Considering picking up a pair, decent price at only $60.

I've tried 2 pairs of the stretchy Denver Hayes from Mark's Work Warehouse. he idea was great; easy to step up on tailgates and do jump kicks. The crotches wear out after about 2-3 months though so far. So I am not too impressed there.

If the rise is too high (ie: the crotch hangs way below your actually crotch) you'll get excessive stretching in that area while doing karate and kick jumps.

Picked up a couple pairs of Buffalo over the past couple months, I've become a big fan. They usually seem to have pairs on sale at The Bay (or I just fluked out).

Just a Q for others who own Buffalo: what's with the double belt loop? Like each belt loop has another loop attached behind it. Are you supposed to slide the belt in between those loops? Or just the normal right against the waist with both loops on the outside? Please help, I can't sleep at night because of this..

It has been a while since I've asked about the belt loop thing but if I remember it is for different sized belts. Most belts are a pretty standard size and will fit both loops, I know I like to put my belts through the back one and when i come around the front, stick the excess through the top loop

No it is not, it's actually barely big enough (last hole). The first belt loop is actually very close to the button of the jeans so no matter what hole on a belt is used you can stick it through the loop.

Thanks to Hockey & Soccer I have larger thighs, and usually the inside crotch wears out and I end up tossing a pair of jeans away.

Does anyone have a go to brand that is suited for larger thighs but doesn't have the granddad look to them?
