Miller seems to be a pretty strong D-prospect.

Would he be better than any of our d-prospects?

It won't be a short rebuild if you're trading for picks in the teens. 13th, 14th, and 15th in this draft will still probably only yield one high-end NHLer. They need to take a run at top 3 picks, that are far more hit than miss.

They traded Lucic and Hamilton for three not so favourable gambles. If Sweeney isn't taking a run at a top 3-5 pick then he's not doing his best for the organization.

Man the Kings were already big and physical enough to play against. With Lucic they just increased the level of punishment they already dole out to opponents.
Lucic is quicker than you think. He has deceptive speed when Boston played the Flames here i recall Lucic cutting the edge and beating Brodie when Brodie had the angle.
I also recall Lucic skating diagonal through neutral ice to create a 2 on 1 against Gio. Not easy to do.
I was surprised that Lucic had that speed because of his big stride.
Now that he is a King not a fan of Lucic anymore except when he smashes the Canucks.

Kings are clearly looking to 'bully' their way to another championship. At the same time though a couple of their other players are diminishing a bit. Brown, Richards and Williams aren't what they were even a couple seasons ago. Gaborik isn't getting younger or more durable. But Lucic helps a bit in both areas.

I'm just glad the Flames countered in a way, by adding a 6'4 monster on the back end.
