I shall miss his ugly new facial hair.

Given how things have gone in Edmonton since his departure, he can certainly make the argument that he wasn't the problem there.

You should retract that statement Textcritic. I'd hate to see you named in the lawsuit.

I hope The Canucks keeps their whining and diving mentality. They are the best team to cheer against and rival.

Kassian, Sestito, Burrows, Kesler, Bieksa, Torts, Sedins and the former Torres, Lapierre, Ruutu, and Cooke.

I would hate to see them develop a culture like the Flames.

Yikes, Gillis better not get a shot at the Calgary vacancy.

@FarhanLaljiTSN: IMO, the Aquilini's wouldn't be waiting until Wed to hold a press conference if they didn't hope to have another announcment to make then

Yes bad news as a Flames fan as Gillis had been making a mockery of the trading process...the Schneider/Luongo drama, Hodgson drama, Kesler rumours, etc. just off the top of my head. All of these scenarios (Kesler situation notwithstanding due to the firing) he let play out in the public eye , ended up pissing his players off to the point that they demanded out, receiving very limited value at the end of it all. I was hoping to watch this trend continue.

But on the bright side, this likely means that they will keep Torts, which means a couple of things. One is that their current roster is absolutely not cut out to play that style of hockey and it severley limits the effectiveness of arguably their two best players in the Sedin sisters. If they don't overhaul that roster they'll end up right where they currently are again next year. On the other hand if they do overhaul the roster, it's a risky venture to be sure, but if the links to Feaster are accurate it could end up in an even bigger disaster, as the Feaster we saw here in Calgary was prone to assembling a small and skilled lineup, which again would likely fail in the Torts "grind it out/dump it in/block every shot" style of play.

I'm intrigued to see how the failing continues.

Mike Gillis is now available to replace Dave Nonis as usual, and right on schedule.

Lol

“@DownGoesBrown: Lots of people in my timeline defending Mike Gillis. Well, he wouldn't be the first Vancouver Canuck to take a fall for no good reason.”

It'd be odd considering that Gillis filed an official complaint against him with the league a few years back (rightly, but still that's not going to install positive feelings).

Hope not. That would imply that Nonis would be coming here to Calgary... Do Not Want.

Vancouver radio talking about the possibility of hiring Feaster to work with Tortorella...

I'll just not say anything else.

Team1040 was just saying that a few media outlets reporting Jay Feaster is in the mix.

John Shannon @JSportsnet
The Canucks have not reached out to Jay Feaster yet...perhaps waiting for President to be hired.
