I believe the quote was "really really special". That's another really then previous reports. Nowhere to go but up for the Oilers now, it's simple math.

and I thought Nicholson was supposed to be a smart guy or is he just mouthing off for the fan base. Either way it's a dumb situation he's put himself into, without the power to clean house.

If hot air was all it took, the Oiler dirigible would have taken flight years ago.

I wont pretend to know a bunch about Nicholson or hockey canada but I had a few friends in the know who say good riddance and hope his replacement actually tries to grow hockey in this country.

Not sure if accurate but apparently youth hockey in this country dropped some 30-35% under his tenure.

Most people are going to find the dirt on Nicholson because of his new affiliation with the Oilers. Stink by association I guess...

His laundry list of achievements is enormous, and is more than anyone could ever ask for in a president and CEO of Hockey Canada during a lengthy tenure. This does include 2x gold medals in the last 5 years. One of which was stolen from Canada's biggest rival in their backyard, the other earned on our very own soil.

I could care less where he is now, the guy has done wonders for Canadian hockey.

Yeah I get that but lets face it, you could have set up those gold medals with ease!

The bigger picture is our future and from what I'm told he was far from great in that department.

I've heard many of the same things. discontent over the growth of the game in the country and his arrogance. If you give Bob credit for Olympic gold medals and the like... Do you send Harper a letter of congratulations when the unemployment rate drops?

Been busy so I didn't get a chance to respond. My question is do we know that is what they are doing though. In Calgary, we hear them talking about meeting with everyone to sort out the draft ranking. Edmonton may be on the forefront of operational planning, but I think it is more to do with them getting out of the city because they are no good. Has there been any reports of them doing their summit in the Okanagan? To me it sounds more like a summer vacation.
