The freestyle skiing program deserves a lot of credit for whatever they're doing to prepare and compete. Nine medals (including 4 gold) in 10 events, including double medals in 4 events. And they had three more top 6 finishes, so there was the potential there for even more.

It's really just relevant to the type of events there are. Both of the past two Olympics, events we excel at were near the start, events we're not as good at are in the middle, and then all the team sports and more freestyle are at the end.
