Please don't take offense to this, but I think you might not have thick enough skin for this board.

One big positive I've noticed over the last little stretch has been our goaltending. Not only allowing less goals/bad goals but playing in a more calm and composed manner. Berra especially seems to be settling down in net and not getting out of position as often as earlier in the year.
Admittedly I've missed portions of the odd game here and there but it's something that's stuck out for me. Goes for both goalies as well.

Did Berra lose his net on the GWG? Because that was a really low percentage shot.

I'm not even involved in this discussion, but as a non-partisan party, it's really difficult to have a decent discussion on any message board when some poster's first idea is to insult another poster. It just doesn't promote healthy, educated discussion. Isn't that the point? We're all Flames fans... why does it have to be constant bickering?

This team has been getting by on hard work all season, but that only lasts so long. I just hope we don't see Burke get impatient and try to fix things quickly with trades. Since the issue is team talent, the roster can only be properly fixed at the draft.

Crappy game, although we had quite a few quality chances to even it at 1-1.
One thing I noticed is that the lack of any right handed d-men is hurting the team. Defensively there were quite a few plays where the right defender was clearly uncomfortable and forced into awkward backhands that didn't clear the zone. Offensively, it hurts the breakout because on at least 3 occasions we had a forward free by the far boards at the canuck's blue line while the puck was being retrieved from the near boards by the right defender. By the time the defender pulled it to his forehand, the change was finished and the Flames player got marked.

If djsFlames took insult to the image I posted I fully apologize. It wasn't meant in any way, shape, or form to insinuate he had inferior intelligence/perception. It was intended as a light-hearted/tongue in cheek jab at the oversight of a fellow poster. I like to think that the occasional banter/poking-fun/teasing helps to keep things from getting too heated. Perhaps I misstepped this time.

Yup, give up on the 24 year old with 5 NHL games for the 29 year old who has cleared waivers multiple times.
Great logic for a rebuilding team.

That and when this team was 100% healthy swe could tread water and hold our own. But with almost zero depth (especially offensive) when one or two key players go down then the season goes tits up.
That's one of the key difference between contenders and pretenders. Good teams can weather key injuries, bad teams just sink.

I was fully enjoying the whole exchange, tbh.
Also, you're too sweet. But the bad jokes need to be impaled and disposed of immediately.

I'll be honest, I've been pretty hopeful for Breen's development for a while now. The truth of the matter is he's not ready for the NHL. Whether he will be at a later time is a matter of debate, but right now he more or less finds himself in the same situation Colborne was in Toronto. He's not waiver-exempt anymore, but he's not good enough to crack our roster. Toronto was able to get a 5th for Colborne, but who has a defense worse than the Flames that would be willing to give up a pick for him? I hate to say it, but it's time to put him on waivers and send him down to Abby where he'll get some solid minutes, and hopefully become an NHL'er. I have serious doubts that he'll be picked up at this point.

Canucks 2 - Flames 0. Worst game of the year?

Which is kind of rich considering you took every opportunity to insult me in every message you sent me the other day. Doesn't bother me one bit, but don't pretend you're "holier than thou". None of us are. We're having a bit of fun. Relax, enjoy yourself would you?

Private messages are private for a reason (so as not to detract from public discussion). I'd long given up trying to have a reasoned conversation with you at that point.
