Bouma's goal was the nicest Flames goal this season, and Colborne had the nicest shootout goal for the Flames in years. Fun game!

Definitely an entertaining game, had a bit of everything. Things weren't looking good when the Jets tied it up at the end of the 3rd, but credit to Berra who started to look more and more comfortable as the shootout went along, at the end he looked super calm.
Loved seeing the kid score the winner.

He was also responsible for not getting the puck out of the zone on the powerplay goal and it was clear his second SH goal was his mind at that point, and he was partially responsible for the blown coverage on the last minute goal. Still he's much better than a Tim Jackman that never touches the ice in the last half of the game.

It's a difference in size I think - Kiprusoff started off very passive in the shootout when it was introduced and got burned for it. He eventually added a poke check to his repertoire, but still relied on forwards getting close to him before he could get it. Forwards still had the option of burning the puck straight past as Kiprusoff's talents were in his mobility and vision, not one-on-one reflexes.
Berra by comparison can be much more aggressive with it; even if he screws it up, he is large enough that the forward will still have problems getting around him and lifting the puck over his pads (evidenced once during that shootout).

This was the bench just before Monahan took the shot.
Hudler knew...

Again for giggles I looked at where we are in the playoff race. At almost a quarter of the season done, the 8th place team is 9 freaking games over. 500. That's ridiculous

I'd like to see Sven's shift leading up to the Hudler goal.

Lots of people surprised Hartley went with Colborne first in the shootout. Remember his beauty breakaway goal against Phoenix? Almost the same move. Does it in practices all the time too
Bouma's goal was gorgeous. Love it

I like how Hudler was already jumping off the bench because he knew Monahan would score. Confidence in the kid, I like that.
