Hmm, same ownership, how hard can this be?

Can either Glenn, Tate, or Mitchell skate? If so, maybe one of 'em could quarterback the powerplay for a game or two...

He was never a bad back up, the team playing infront of him was. If it weren't for Kipper all those years not sure where this team would have been.

You need to understand Brodie is going through an adjustment period getting the top assignments. He wasn't going to be a top two guy out the box. He is growing and developing. That's the whole point of this year.

Getting schooled by ovechkin last night is what needs to happen for him to become the player we want. Peter Parker doesn't understand his destiny as spider man unless uncle Ben dies.

Scott Cruickshank@CruickshankCH4m

#Flames Bob Hartley called Monahan's debut "an eye-opener." In many ways. As souvenir, the kid has 6 or 7 stitches above his right eyebrow.

He was a terrible backup. He had terrible rebound control and couldn't consistently win against the bottom feeders we threw him out against; god help us if he'd had to carry the mail for any stretch of time against real NHL players.

As much as it was a stupid penalty to take, I'm sure Hartly has him told that no more bad penalties like last night but let's face it the PK should have been better. Bar the penalty I think Galiardi had a nice solid game so to bench the guy would achieve nothing!

just hilarious that he would have been a top 4 for the past couple seasons had he stayed with the Flames.

I think people are making way more of this Street vs Sven/Monahan thing. Street had 9 minutes Sven/Monahan 11 each. Frankly, I noticed Street more than the other two.

I do hope that they work on a better powerplay assignments, however. Pathetic last night for the most part and something Sven/Monahan should improve.

For all the people complaining about Hartley playing Street more than Monahan / Baertschi, according to NHL.com, TOI was:

Street: 9:33
Monahan: 11:40
Baertschi: 11:24

Does that mean Street was more noticable on the ice than the other two? Maybe those minutes are deserved then.

I think it is more the PP time that has people complaining.

As someone who you are apparently referring to, I'll reply...

No one said Street played more - the issue was that he played in OT, and that the other kids might have been deserving of the same.

Meh, Flames dominated in the OT period, so I don't have any complaints on who Hartley played. Besides, according to Maher, Monahan was a little shaken up, so maybe they kept him out for precautionary reasons.
