I don't know if this plays a factor, but RGIII has already had surgery on the same knee. The fact this time he may have torn his LCL along with his ACL makes me wonder of his long term health in the NFL

The sack leader and a key pass rusher to force Qb's to throw it into the strong SEA secondary. Irvin will step in and do ok, but not the same down by down, especially if the Seahawks manage to beat ATL.
League talks about player safety and tries to make everything else across the league as level a playing field as possible (don't you dare wear black shoes or pull your socks up too high), but can't tell a billionaire owner to get proper grass/re-sod, or stop playing Bowl games on it so its in adequate/non dangerous shape.
|
This is a tough area to grow grass though. They have to use Bermuda because nothing else would last through the hot summers, but it goes dormant here around October, so it is not repairing itself after that. Re sodding in December wouldn't work because it wouldn't weave in.
I'd hate for them to go to field turf, but that hybrid option sounds kind of cool where they inject artificial turf into the real grass.

Cowboys' defense has steadily declined since Wade was fired. Rob Ryan is also a terrible defensive coordinator.

I laughed so hard at this it hurt. I mean it's so awesome!
Quote:
According to the police in Decatur, Alabama, an officer saw a car being driven with a driver’s side window tinted so dark that the officer couldn’t see anyone inside at all, and so the officer pulled the car over. That car was driven by McClain, and when the officer approached the car, McClain rolled the window down all the way and refused to let the officer inspect the window. Asked for his driver’s license and proof of insurance, McClain said only, “You know who I am.”
The officer told McClain that he needed to inspect the window, but McClain refused to allow the inspection, saying that his doctor had diagnosed him with sensitivity to light and that he was therefore exempt from the tinted-window laws. Eventually, after the officer called a police supervisor to the scene, McClain allowed his window to be inspected and was given a citation for his window being too dark.
At that point, McClain was asked to sign the citation, and he wrote in the space for the signature, “F–k y’all.”
Officers asked McClain to put his real name on the ticket, and McClain answered, “That is my name.” At that point, McClain was arrested for providing a false name.
The Decatur Daily caught up with McClain to ask him what happened, and he pointed the finger at the police.
“I’m falsely accused of everything,” McClain said. “It’s corrupt. It’s terrible.”
Asked if he thinks the police are out to get him, McClain said, “Yes. You said it. I answered it.”

I really don't understand how he got another head coaching gig after his stint in Buffalo. I wasn't even terribly impressed with his work as the OC in Atlanta.

I'm sure glad the Chiefs went out and got Reid right away. Looks like slim pickings for credible coaching candidates with all the vacancy's.

Hunt moved a lot quicker this time around. Last time after Peterson resigned, it took him a good 4 to 6 weeks after the season until he hired Pioli, and in turn it took him a week to axe Herm Edwards, and at that point in time the Superbowl was done with and everyone else had their staff's in place leaving the Chiefs to hire Todd Haley and a rag tag coaching staff.
By getting his coach in place with the power he has this early, it should make things much improved over the last regime change.

Chudzinski, the Browns' offensive coordinator in 2007-08, had worked the last two seasons as the Carolina Panthers' offensive coordinator.
It's a surprise and a letdown all rolled up into one confusing announcement. I'm not guaranteeing that Chudzinski will fail. I'm not saying he's a bad choice. Chudzinski simply wasn't the coach that the Browns were talking about when the search began 11 days ago. That's where the disappointment comes from. Jamison Hensley, writing for ESPN.com,
Here's what I know on CLE situation-- Chud is HC, Norv is coming with him, Norv's son Scott Turner is too...D will move to a 3-4 scheme. Peter Schrager of FoxSports.com writes on his Twitter account

Yup...Chudzinski is part of that coaching tree that includes Schottenheimer and Norv Turner....not really the kind of guy that team needs IMO. Though he did really good work with the panthers...no doubt.

Clark Hunt gets an unfair categorization from some Chiefs fans. Some think he is an aloof millionaire who only cares about money and not about the fans or the team. This guy grew up with the Chiefs as a large part of his family. Even though he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, much like his father he is no dummy. He was awarded numerous athletic and academic awards at Southern Methodist University. Has been on the inside of a professional football team for his entire life. I think he learned from the last regime change and has decided to try something different this time. Hopefully it works.

The search may look odd, but I do believe you’re better off expanding the scope of the search than obsessing over the Mike McCoys of the world. Howard Eskin reported on Twitter yesterday that McCoy had a poor interview and the Eagles were no longer considering him. I can’t confirm that, but it’s worth noting.

Definitely. That defense was a miracle this year with all the injuries. Tough to win in the NFL when the middle LB Sean Lee goes down in week 6.
But we all know Garrett is untouchable. Cowboys will be 4-12 next season.

Trestman denys he has the Bears job.
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...ten-bears-job/
“I have not heard from the Bears and have responded in that manner on multiple levels. Thanks,” Trestman wrote.
And so the Bears search will go on this weekend with interviews scheduled on Friday, Saturday and Sunday with candidates for the job. Trestman interviewed early this week and the Bears are still expected to bring back finalists for second interviews before making their choice about Lovie Smith’s replacement.
