Looks like Eagles and Browns are the two choices for Chip Kelly.

I am not sure if I want Kelly as a coach, I am intrigued on what he could do players like McCoy, Maclin and Jackson but not sure he can fully adapt to the NFL. Foles is not a Kelly type of QB however, so if he takes the Eagles job does he go get someone more mobile like an Alex Smith or does he change his style to suit Foles?

Before Buffalo and Doug Marrone agreed to a deal early this morning, the Bills interviewed former Bears HC Lovie Smith on Saturday.

Cleveland Browns walk away from Chip Kelly, who later decides to stay at Oregon

Chip Kelly is probably waiting on his dream NFL job - with the New England Patriots

I think Chip may have burned almost all bridges to the NFL with his two consecutive seasons of flirtations but no action. I'd imagine Nike U is gonna be giving him a decent raise to hang around when they get hammered with sanctions.

The Browns, as of this morning, have $47 million in cap room in 2013. That's an astounding amount of space to help build a competitive team quickly, both through the draft and in free agency.

Browns might pursue Jon Gruden now that Chip Kelly is out of the picture

Gruden, 49, is a native of Sandusky, Ohio, and played quarterback at the University of Dayton. He also has ties to Browns owner Jimmy Haslam from his time as a graduate assistant at Tennessee in 1985-86. His wife, Cindy, is a former University of Tennessee cheerleader.

The Browns are also expected to interview Montreal Alouettes coach Marc Trestman and Colts offensive coordinator Bruce Arians, according to Jason Cole of Yahoo.com.

RG III has a partially torn LCL and it's feared he further tore the ACL (he tore it in college). The MRI was inconclusive due to the previous injury to the ACL. It could take a full year to rehab if the ACL is torn as is feared.

Sounds excessive...Peterson shredded both is MCL and ACL last December and a year later he almost sets a record for yardage.

Everyones different of course but what they can do with knees now rarely sees a guy miss an entire year.

Yeah, but Peterson's recovery was pretty much universally lauded as incredible, and he did it two weeks earlier in the year.

Haven't heard much reaction to the Marrone hiring in Buffalo. Seems like an awful choice and much along the cheap practices of the team but perhaps I am missing something.

I'm not a fan of it, the guy was .500 over 4 years, and yeah they were worse before he got there, but does .500 seriously get you an NFL job now? But whatever, none of it matters because the Bills will always suck.

Chris Clemons also tore his ACL thanks to that disgrace of a playing surface yesterday. (Petersen did it on the field a year ago too). Carrroll ripped it today too, and it's condition certainly didn't help Griffin's injury either.

The sack leader and a key pass rusher to force Qb's to throw it into the strong SEA secondary. Irvin will step in and do ok, but not the same down by down, especially if the Seahawks manage to beat ATL.

League talks about player safety and tries to make everything else across the league as level a playing field as possible (don't you dare wear black shoes or pull your socks up too high), but can't tell a billionaire owner to get proper grass/re-sod, or stop playing Bowl games on it so its in adequate/non dangerous shape.

He was pretty high on the Eagles' list, too, so it's not like the Bills were the only team chasing him.

I'm really hoping the Eagles interview with Gus Bradley goes well. I mentioned him last year on this board when talking about guys I wanted to replace Andy Reid. He's done nothing but continue to impress me this season.

Per Tommy Lawlor (IgglesBlitz):

Quote:
Caplan says the Eagles never made a contract offer to Chip Kelly. Caplan made it sound like the 9-hour meeting was a mixture of the Eagles selling Kelly on the job, but also the Eagles figuring out if he is the guy they would hire.

Just today I heard a rumor (and I stress “rumor”) that the Eagles were a bit nervous with some of Kelly’s answers about putting together a coaching staff and his thoughts on defense at the NFL level. No idea if that’s actually true

Rob Ryan fired

I always thought that the Dallas Cowboysdefense was there constantI don't follow that much but thought that if anyone's head needed to roll on that coaching staff it was Jason Garrett more than Rob Ryan
