I heard that DiCaprio wants himself digitally removed from the movie Titanic. Now that it's 25 he doesn't want to be in that anymore either.

You're literally comparing us to countries who treat females as property, I can't even take seriously someone who suggests any sort of equivalence between the underlying principles informing them on what's acceptable and what isn't.

If you're suggesting our laws probably have the age right and someone at that age has the agency to make those decisions, I don't have a problem with your position.
There's a difference in saying "we have the law right" vs "as long as it's within the law".
The first has you using moral judgement on the appropriateness of our laws, the 2nd has your morality based only in conforming to the laws.
|
I am suggesting the former; that 'we have the law right'. I have zero problems arguing that child brides and that sort of thing are reprehensible.

I willing to bet the public displays of self-righteousness in this thread are inversely proportional to the morality of the poster's browser history.

I think exactly 0 people were offended when Kate Beckinsale was dating Pete Davidson (20 year age difference). Most questioned how he could score a woman like that.

Man... I've ALWAYS had a crush on her. she aged like fine wine, if not better.
As for my thoughts on Leo, good for him. If the young girls prefer a wrinkly weiner and low hanging balls over someone their age, that's their choice

I was being mostly tongue in cheek, but it's not entirely uncommon in Gay culture for and older man to be dating a younger one. If you want to look up more the specific sub types, urban dictionary is your friend.

Luckily we all just watch porn showing women in their early 20s and just fantasize about having sex with them.
We'd be creepy if we actually did it, like Leo.

My posts have probably come off this way and wasn't my intention. I'm usually annoyed by the self righteousness on CP so don't want to come off that way in this thread and maybe went in a little guns blazing at first.
I have no problem with age gaps which I stated earlier in the thread, but do think maturity at 19 is different from mid 20s+ in general. The gap itself isn't important to me.
The part I took issue with is the "as long as it's legal, anything goes" attitude a few posters showed.
Some of the posts were pretty crude and didn't seem like they'd care about anything but the legal age.
I will stand by my position that I find that attitude gross and if it makes me self righteous, so be it.

Lol
Guys bashing a guy for dating women that resemble what they would ideally like to date is most certainly rich
"immoral" is a convenient cover up for their true feelings on the matter
Somehow I doubt any of the fellow 48 year olds pointing fingers would actually choose a 48 year old with botox and a pixie cut over a line up of 20-somethings if put in Leo's position.
Sure, they might not do it serially as he has, but there's no question that if given the option on a consistent basis that they would indulge for the sake of it
The hypocrites really think we're going to pretend not to know which head thinks louder more often than not

Maybe I am crazy, but I want what my parents have. 42 years of love and commitment. The sad realty is that all the money, fame and sex in the world can't give you the peace and happiness my parents enjoy.

You're not crazy
The sad reality is their relationship and its longevity and quality probably represents 20% of cases
Two secure people with good communication skills that don't outgrow one another but grow together and cultivate an admiration that persists after looks fade like that is probably becoming less and less common, but it is a beautiful thing when you see it
I think in terms of this conversation we're speaking of eligible bachelors at Leo's age
