Honestly though, I hope it's not too late. In a perfect world, United sign Pereira, loan him to PSV and buy Depay. Works for every side - Pereira gets first team football, the blow of losing Depay softens for PSV by getting a talented player on loan in return, and van Gaal gets a player he likes.
Already really excited for the game on Sunday ... didn't think I would be, but yesterday's performance gave me some hope that maybe not everything is lost just yet. This one on Sunday is massive.

I'd start the same 11, except Jones scares the tar outta me.

agreed. If Rojo is fit I'd rather have him in there instead of Jones, but other than that, no changes please.

reports in Germany and Austria both suggest that 22 year old centre back Kevin Wimmer will move from Cologne to Tottenham for more than €10m in the summer. Looks like this is a done deal, reports say all parties have agreed. In terms of transfer fees, Wimmer would become the most expensive Austrian ever ... until Dragovic moves to United in the summer, of course

I like him, he's a talented defender. He managed the step from the 2nd league to the Bundesliga this year with ease and he should have the physical tools to compete in England as well. When it comes to our national team, his problem is that CB is easily our best position right now. We have a young CB duo in Dragovic (24) and Hinteregger (22) there and they have formed a nice partnership over the last year ... don't think Koller will break that up on a regular basis in the important games unless Wimmer significantly outplays Hinteregger, and I don't see that at the moment. But hey, we have Liechtenstein and a friendly vs Bosnia coming up, so I'm sure Koller will try a few things. By the way, Wimmer has played one game for our national team already - 2 minutes in injury time in a friendly in 2013

If Suarez had stayed, we'd be in 1st place right now with a chance at the title. Who cares though, he didn't have the sack to stay and see it out. So ###### him. We'll survive.

His goal was always to play in Spain, particularly for Barcelona. With how much he was villianized by fans and media alike can you blame him? Take the 1st leg at the Etihad - he was farcically accused of biting Demichelis!
Quote:
In 2003, Sofia's family moved to Spain.
Luis sank into a dark place. He had lost his new family, lost his soulmate and his muse. His work habits slipped. Years later, his rise to the Premier League seems inevitable. It wasn't. The reason Suarez became a great player is that he loved Sofia. She lived in Europe, and he lived in South America, and he could clean streets for the rest of his life and not afford a plane ticket. So his young lovesick mind concocted a completely irrational plan, typical of the teenage boy species: He would dedicate himself to soccer, working hard and endlessly, and he'd get good enough to earn a position on a European team, and the team would fly him across the ocean to his Sofia. Nuts, right?

If Suarez had stayed we'd still be leaking goals at the back and trying to outscore opponents. It hurts in the short run losing him, but long run I think this is what's best for Brendan. Suarez was always going to leave at some point, at least now we have a semblance of a deep squad because of it.
We're poised to make a run next year as barring any huge surprises there will be no major departures affecting the XI - that includes Gerrard.

Fifa announced a December Qatar WC today. The Final will be Dec 18th.
I hope the top 5 European leagues band together and say they aren't releasing their players. It beyond stupid to choose Qatar in the first place. It's just baffling that FIFA would ask them to release their players for an intense mid-season national team tournament.

you can at least scratch that bold part.

Michael Carrick has extended his current deal for a further year which keeps him at the club until at least June 2016.
Carrick, 33, made his debut for United in August 2006. In that time he has made 376 appearances, scoring 22 goals. He has won five Premier League titles, one League Cup, one Champions League and a Club World Cup.
Louis van Gaal said: "I am delighted that Michael has extended his contract. Michael is a great reader of the game and his exceptional versatility has enabled me to play him in different positions on the pitch. He is my vice-captain and I have been impressed by his professionalism both on and off the pitch. He is a great inspiration for any young player.”

I generally like Falcao but this seems a bit melodramatic.
Quote:
Radamel Falcao's former agent claims the Colombian striker has been driven to tears by his Manchester United predicament.
United manager Louis van Gaal has insisted the decision to select him for the under-21s was not a humiliating one for Falcao, but Espindola said the 29-year-old was clearly upset when he and the frontman spoke ahead the match.
"He was a bit scared because these matches scare him -- the matches with young teams and from the second or third division. In these matches they are accustomed to fighting and going in hard. It was like this when he was injured in France, against a team from the fourth division."
Espindola was critical of Van Gaal's handling of the player.
"He is a coach that kills your confidence," Espindola said. "He destroys it. He is working with other great players that were at a great level and with Van Gaal they are now less so."
United paid a reported £6million loan fee for Falcao, as well as covering his hefty wage, and must decide whether to take up a £43.5million option to make the deal permanent in the summer.

This Tom Ince fella must be one hell of a footballer.
First he turns down Inter and now England U-21s.
All for ........... trying to win a place on Hull's team!
Strange one. You would think a young player would be all over playing in an international tourrnament. It's not as if he's ever going to crack the first team.
But having said that, holy overreaction from Twatface.

haha yeah I remember when he rejected Inter ... really stunning stuff from a guy who hasn't been able to establish himself in the Premier League at 23. Probably just another case of uncontrolled megalomania ... like Nicklas Bendtner and Marko Arnautovic, for example.
