actually scratch that, WHL.ca is pretty slow it seems ... Klimchuk added an empty netter to complete the hattrick in a 4-2 win.

Looking at the Prospects around the NCAA tonight:

BC leads 1-0 over U-Mass Lowell after 1. Gaudreau with his NCAA-leading 28th goal of the season. His 7th PP goal. No assist for Arnold on the play.

Providence leads UMass 2-1 after 1. Jankowski a +1. UMass only had 3 shots in the period, but were able to score a late PP goal on Gillies.

Colgate and Yale are both also playing. No points for Harrison or Agostino in their games.

Later tonight, MSU is playing in Wisconsin. It's a 7:00pm MT start time, and will be airing on BTN. Matt DeBlouw returned to the Spartans lineup last weekend after missing over a month. He will be playing tonight.

I know we keep pounding home that it's not a high scoring team, but for the Friars that was Hart's 3rd of the season, and Tanev's 4th.

Mauermann has 18 goals and Jankowski has 9. They're PC's two leading goal scorers, a combined 27. Gaudreau's goal tonight was his 28th.

Boston College wins 3-0. No additional points for Johnny or Bill. Gaudreau's goal holds up as the GWG (his sixth of the season, tying his total from last year). Gaudreau is now 2 points off the 2.0PPG pace, so he'll need some big games to end the season.

Providence wins 4-3. Jankowski scored the fourth goal, getting the GWG (his first of the season). Gillies made 30 saves on 33 shots, for the win (all of the goals against were scored on the PP). Gilmour took one penalty, and that was his only appearance on the score sheet.

Yale defeated Harvard 5-2. Agostino had 2 assists.

Colgate won 6-1 over Princeton, but I can't find the game stats for that one.

MSU and Wisconsin are tied at 1 after 1. No points for DeBlouw yet.

----
As an addendum to my post above, Jankowski now has 10 goals, so he and Mauermann combined now have as many goals as just Gaudreau.

Agostino seems to be on a good point stretch lately. Nice to see.

The Q is very congested this year. Seems like most junior leagues have teams that separate from the pack (Kelowna in the WHL, Guelph/Erie/London in the OHL)... in the Q the top 7 teams are within 8 points of each other. Gatineau could go out early enough that we could see Poirier get a few games with the Flames at the end of the year... or they could have a long run that could cover much of the Heat's playoff games.

Klimchuck looks bigger than 5'11" to me (especially in that video from the Flames website)... Is he done growing?

Considering his age I would say he still has some growing to do but you never know.

Also, Jankowski has a goal tonight. It's his 11th of the season, and 20th point.

This is his first two goal weekend since early November.

Providence leads 2-0 about halfway through the second. Gillies has faced 13 shots so far.

BC also leads their game 2-0 in the second. Matt Gaudreau is playing his second game in two nights.

NCAA wrap-up for Saturday night:
  • BC and UMass-Lowell skate to a 2-2 tie. Gaudreau with the 1G. Nothing for Arnold. The Eagles' win streak comes to an end, but they're still undefeated back to the beginning of December.

  • Providence gets the 2-1 win. Jankowski with the GWG. Gillies with 25 saves. Gilmour only on the score sheet with a penalty. Gillies named 1st star and Jankowski was 2nd star.

  • Yale tied Darthmouth 3-3. Agostino with one assist.

  • MSU fell to Wisconsin 2-0. DeBlouw had 2 shots.

  • Colgate defeated Quinnipiac 3-1. Harrison had 1 shot, no points.

The NCAA regular season ends next weekend (except for MSU, who still has 3 more weeks of regular season games).

BC only plays one game next week and have a week off with a bye to the Hockey East quarterfinals.

Right now, Providence is on the bubble as to whether or not they'll get a bye to the quarterfinals. If they win both games next weekend, they'll get the bye, but they're playing a tough team from Maine, with both games in Maine.

I thought at Flames development camp they listed him at 6'0? Regina Pats site has him at 5'11, though.

Either way, great player!

Swift Current beat Regina 6-2 tonight.

Gordon has 1 goal and 2 assists.

Klimchuk was not in the lineup for Regina tonight, hopefully its nothing serious.
