So why do we permit things such as travel for vacations, ect? Permit the ability to buy cheap goods that we all love dear from countries with horrible human rights records, with toxic materials, that arrive on heavy tankers that produce more carbon dioxide in one trip than thousands of individuals could ever hope to produce in their lifetimes?
Peacemeal platitudes and lower disposable income by way of carbon taxes ain't doing ####. But we could do many things to severely limit the damage without cutting our nose off to spite our face.
But we aren't. The better mousetrap isn't here, and while many bemoan our current state of calamity the belly aching would reach a fever pitch if you couldn't buy a new 60" POS TV from Asia.
Nuclear is the answer, but for the zealots it's a non starter as well. Guess we are ####ed.

One thing about your post genuinely confuses me. You say carbon tax is bad because you'd rather have the extra money to buy more stuff. But then you talk badly about the extra stuff you supposedly want to buy, saying it produces more carbon and toxic substances. So your anti-carbon-tax argument isn't making a lot of sense here.
I agree that nuclear will have to be a big part of the answer to climate change. The problem though is that nuclear plants can take a long time to build and get up and running, time we don't necessarily have.

You can check online of wildfire maps and see for yourself. Unless you’re not denying that fact that wildfires have increased at an alarming rate this summer but rather that it’s caused from climate change? I can’t tell

Uh oh, he's he's back on formerly Twitter! Did anyone bother to tell him he just literally surrendered himself to the authorities?

I wonder if that is how Trump really sees himself when he looks in the mirror.
It's also funny that for hair colour, he put "strawberry blonde".

Buy more stuff like food, which is getting ever more expensive (also in part to carbon taxes) mortgages and rent in the middle of a housing crisis, clothing, things you need to live.
Not cheap junk that western society has become infatuated with.
