That might have been something worth mentioning when you first spoke of the invite and turning it down.

But how did you come to the conclusion there was 4 mafia members?
In the first game there was 25 players and 5 mafia members plus a serial killer.
In the next game there was 30 players and 8 mafia members.
I think we should be looking at least 5 bad guys (perhaps not all mafia) so I'm wondering why you chose 4. If I interpret your post right.
|
I think the minimum number of mafia members would be four. It's likely higher but if you count possibilities like cult leaders and SKs it would be higher. I didn't want to overstate my case.

This gives us a few things.
It shows it's voluntary, and it stops the spread. Until we see a really cool power used I am not sure it's worth it to possibly lose more townies. If it is a cult they would have answered the win condition question the same way so we don't really know.

Granted I wasn't playing at the time, but I thought the plan was to decline the invites? I think we are focusing way too much on cults at the moment.

I agree there is too much on the cults now but wouldn't you at least post in the thread I got this offer what should I do. Or after you decline it say I got offered an immunity.
The level of disclosure is odd.

We discussed earlier in the day that no one should accept. You were threatening to lynch the next person who accepted.
And I wanted the town to see what would happen with the first rejection.

Girly, why wouldn't you mention the power when you mentioned that you got an offer to join?
Hockeyguy - I think people are so focused on the groups because everyone who has joined or been offered to join is being very vague about everything

Are they allowed to talk about it when they get it? I thought you weren't allowed to comment when you got the invite, otherwise girlysports and mrkajz both could have told us?
Honestly there is too much unknown about these cults for me to really hammer people right now. I will for sure keep it in mind for later though.

Yeah, but why didn't you come to the town with all the info either before or after you declined?

Mrkajz did tell us that he could post about it before replying. Starseed has mentioned that he was asked in the message to not talk about it in the thread, but Mazrim himself said that its up to starseed if he wants to talk about it or not. It's the players inviting these people asking for them to not talk about it
girly and mrkajz contradiction, along with everything else currently being discussed is why its a point of interest. Why do you want to just sweep it under the rug so bad? No ones being lynched yet, it's best that we talk about this now though and ask the people who have joined or been asked to join what they know

I'll have to play catch up tonight after work and hockey but for now I don't hate a lynch of hmmhmcamo or GP Matt. Hmmhmcamo because he hadn't really contributed and his posts are very 'deflective' as someone called it. Matt because it would certainly provide lots of info and would likely ease some of the worries have about the cults, even though I would guess he's more likely to be town.
Would also like to hear clarification/explanation from girly sports before voting.

I'm not sweeping it under the rug, there is just simply not enough known about the cults and clearly none of the members/declining people are giving us much to go on. We have 2 card flips to go on, a potential doctor with a night kill, a second night kill on day 1 and all we want to do is talk about the cults.
We don't know what their function is, we don't know how they work really, and we don't know the perks/downside of joining is. i have no idea if we should worry about them yet, but I think we should spend less time on them for now.

I take this post by mrkajz as him saying he was allowed to come into the thread and tell us he had an offer before accepting or rejecting

Yes, there was a 24 hour time limit to answer.
No, there was nothing saying I had to respond before I could talk in the thread again. However, the message did say not to talk about the content of the invite, with a few exceptions which I did mention when I posted about my invite.
I contemplated letting everyone know I had the invite out there before I rejected. However, there has been a lot of bad blood out there for the members and didn't want to associate myself with the group prior to rejection. In my eyes, if I said "hey guys, should I accept?" I think some people would have cried fowl stating we agreed to reject all offers and my hesitation would be seen as scummy. I'll admit it was easy for me to judge others prior to me getting the invite, so try to see it from the invitees perspective.
As I said above, I did not want to post again on the board before I rejected the invite. That's why I didn't wait on the 24 hour deadline. Now that you bring that up though, it could be a solid strategy for the new invitees.
Hope that information helps.

It's contradictory or what girly later said, when she said that she wasn't allowed to talk about it until she made a decision

Please do tell; what you know about whether one should join a group and its repercussions from the mafia, and why? What reason was there to omit a pretty big piece of information from the town? How do you know the mafia are excluded from these invites?
(Caution: I haven't read the thread for about 2 hours, sorry if these things came up)

Our discussion is always open to the mafia. What's the harm in telling us about a power that you turned down? You don't have that power, that's no new info for the mafia
Why the change of heart when you did decide to tell us later?
Why do you think this group has anything to do with the mafia? We don't know if it's light, dark or neutral yet
You still haven't made any comment about Drurys claim that you and mrkajz contradicted each other. Why would you both have different rules regarding talking about the group if you were both invited by the same group?
There's a few suspicious posters (Matt, Baxter, squiggs and hmmhmmcamo specifically) but girly is at the top of my list at the moment. I'm having a hard time trusting her

I didnt say at first because of fear the mafia would know that Starseed might have that spell. Having a free save is good for the town. I also wanted to see what would happen if I rejected and said nothing. Ive said this many times.
Why the change of heart? Because you all asked and ECF has blown the doors off everything. So there are no more secrets. And most importantly Starseed asked. I think its important that at least he knows if he and I were offered the same spell or not.
Yes its an open conversation but we can't disclose everything. When to lynch, how to vote, who to kill overnight, who the doctor should save. We are showing the mafia all our cards.

The most interesting part of GS' post above was that starseed thanked it in the midst of GS being the object of everyone's suspicion and heading for a likely lynch. That is more information and her own post is worthy of considering.
I'm off to the Pixies at Mac Hall... will check in later this evening.
