The fact that I have numerous infractions on my account for having too many number signs in a post is hilarious
Where, where?
Idiot people are really grinding my gears today. I'm on a couple of free giveaway pages on facebook, trying to help a friend pick up some items that they lost during their last move, after the moving vehicle rolled, as they're on a fixed income/seniors.
Another lady posted today that she's trying to help a recent Ukrainian immigrant mom who is expecting twins, to pick up some things free or low cost. She also mentioned being disappointed, as is the young mom, that people who have donated recently, ended up just dumping basically their unusable garbage on her, stuff that should just go straight to the landfill. Of course, the usual pieces of excrement jump in with their whole "how very dare she be disappointed in getting garbage, she should be grateful to get anything at all."
Um, eff you sideways, you rancid, unfrosted pop tarts. Why should ANYONE be grateful for getting garbage? I wouldn't be, the people commenting this nonsense wouldn't be, so STFU maybe. So not only has she not gotten much usable, but now she has to be responsible for the cost of taking YOUR garbage to the landfill? Eff that very much.
I am leaning more and more toward misanthropy as I get old (yells at clouds). I also suspect I am going to be one of those little old ladies that bites people...

Oh god you got me started on this now. I always have a hard time trying to talk sense into a few people I know that do this, that think donation services are a good way to just rid themselves of things they and no one else don't want anymore. If the item is 30 years old, heavily used, has gone through 2 garage sales and not selling for $1, no one will take it on facebook, then THROW IT THE F OUT. Don't use a donation service as a free way to rid the item from your hoarding ways and avoid a dump fee.
Just park yourself outside of any donation bin located in a parking lot and watch what people put beside it. It's bonkers. On the weekend I saw a well dressed gentleman in a tesla pull a computer chair out of his trunk and leave it on the ground beside the bin. The thing was missing a wheel and had a #### stain that I could see from 8 stalls away. But I bet he felt great inside for "doing the right thing".
"But it's functional still, people should be happy to get use out of it for a while" Oh piss off, the blanket with blood stains may be "functional" but no one should be happy to use that crap.
I go by the rule of.... if I don't want it anymore, why would anyone else want it? Ok sure, if it's a size thing and the item is in good condition, donate away. But is it because it's nearly broken, old, dirty, or doesn't function like it should anymore? THROW IT OUT, or hell, at least try to clean it or fix it to get it into a donatable condition first.

My sister gives us "hand me down" clothes from her children that are a few years older than ours and I swear like 50% is just pure trash. We throw a lot of it out, but it is nice to get some of the more reasonable items.
I can't decide which is worse:
1) She knows its trash but is just too selfish to handle it herself so she hides it in with the good stuff
2) She has zero understanding that "handing down" trash is not appreciated by the person getting the garbage

Fortunately, the one group I'm on set boundaries on this from the get-go. So, a lot of the stuff that crops up is in decent shape, people just don't feel like dealing with trying to sell it and so on. When we bought our RV, I barely spent a dime on getting it outfitted, between the extra stuff I had at home, and what I picked up off the one free page. I've picked up a few gently used clothing items to keep at my house, for "just in case" situations with my grandson, which is helpful - same with a few toys to have here for him to play with, cuz that shizz is expensive. But junk? Get lost. I will only give away or donate items in good, clean condition - everything else hits the recycle centre if it's a recyclable item, or it goes to the landfill.

I think they should have cameras at those donation shops and when someone drops off their garbage I can pay to watch them get beat with a bat. I'd donate to so many more causes if I could see selfish people get the crap beat out of them.
The worst place in the city has to be this dump place (must be student housing) just off of Crowchild just south of 16th avenue NW. I dare you to drive by there and not see a couch sitting next to the dumpster.
The donation bins are bad enough but the people who drive out of town to dump their crap are the worst. Someone on Reddit posted a hot tub that was dumped at the side of a road.

Ugh...that sounds like a great way to get flesh-eating disease or Super-covid or something.
Roadside hot tub...*shudder*

A good friend of mine had an encounter with a deer on a secondary highway just east of High River. Came out of the ditch and pretty much destroyed the front end of his SUV. Hit the deer doing 100kms. The deer was also DOA. Airbags did their thing and prevented any major injuries, plus the automatic breaking system kicked in and stopped the vehicle.
people sometimes.
I have a buddy whose wife works part time at Wal-Mart.
I texted him asking if she could grab me a bag of sugar if Wal-Mart puts out more stock.
he texts me this morning and says that they put out more last night, so I might be able to get some today.
gee. thanks. would it have killed one of you to grab me a bag like I asked?
