Sounds like she owes him, though. I mean, he did make her dinner.

And cheesecake! Everyone knows dinner invites are transactional.

Geez, I skipped right over that part. This chick was way out of line.

I mean, have you ever made homemade cheesecake? It's an ordeal!

A single man making inviting a single woman to his home for a fancy dinner and dessert is a date, no matter how else it's framed. The only reason I could see her pull a dine and dash is that it was framed differently to her (i.e. maybe she thought there were other people coming or something) and was uncomfortable.

Something I have observed about older people is their propensity to put plastic coverings on all of their furniture. I think that from a date’s / “lady friend’s” perspective, that could be really off putting, in a “is this guy a serial killer or into some weird kink” kind of way. It’s kind of strange in other ways too, but when I see that stuff, I am thinking “Dexter”. I am not suggesting Dion is like that, but I think he posted a pic of his living room or something and I got those vibes from it.

All true, for sure, but there was just a bit of a vibe that he expected to get laid and was annoyed at her that he didn't. Getting her to the house was half the battle, for sure - unless, as you say, she didn't know it was just the two of them - but you still gotta charm her a bit to get to the next step. Or maybe she wants a couple more dates before running her hands through that beautiful head of hair of his.

I'm rooting for him, though. Just maybe don't start unzipping your fly while she's still eating the cheesecake.

Yeah, I believe that was "mother's" décor, though. Hopefully he's updated it a bit now that he's flying solo.

It'll be a crazy party, you should come. There'll be some drinking, some fighting, some ****ing.

Sounds great, when should I show up?

It don't matter, it'll just be the two of us.

I’d like to know more about the cheesecake. Homemade can be a little ambiguous. Was it from scratch or like that Jello cheesecake kit?

I know it's been like this for years, but it still bugs me that they no longer put fortunes in fortune cookies.

I am going on Vacation, my first time out of the country since 2015. I have really been looking forward to it since work is a mother ####er the last 40 days and I don't work a position where I can easily step away.

I just got an email scheduling the most important work meeting of the year which will be held the evening that I come back, this is a meeting that secures a serious amount of funding. FML I am going to be stressed hoping that my flight arrives on time. Damn if I am not going to be stressed hoping I had everything prepared correctly 7 days before. Damn If I wont have to think about it the whole time I am gone.

The old “my work is my life syndrome “ always ruins your life eventually. Some people drink to forget….best make sure you are still drunk when you get to the meeting.

you still get a strip of paper but it's now some dumb inspirational quote or meaningless drivel with some lottery numbers.
It's been years since there was an actual fortune.

I have one in front of me right now

"Keep in touch with some form of the arts"

that's not a fortune.

This actually reminds me of something that does grind my gears. The world continuing to perpetuate the idea that Lobsters is some sort of "premium food" worth paying anything more than $3-5 for. Its a bottom feeder, you are paying to eat the crap on the bottom of the ocean. Its awful stuff. Same thing for Crab.

lol
