My wife's from Winnipeg. The Jets were no more when my son was born, so it was easy, and a given either way, to make him a Flames fan.
They came back prior to my daughter being born, so the wife got to have her own little Jets fan in the house. Nothing against the Jets, but I still feel your pain and seeing any kid in non Flames gear.

My double income one kid sister in law thinks that because my wife has opted to be a stay at home mom (for the most part) she should be entitled to free day care (it's only adding one kid).
I called bull#### on this but my wife is being guilted into 'helping family out'. I've got no problem with helping out in a pinch but eff this s of providing a day home while you earn double income, it totes GMG's. #firstworldprobs #nobodycares #butseriouslythispissesmeoff

Tell your wife the sister in law should watch your kids for a few hours on every weekend so you can spend time with each other. It's only fair since she is watching her kid for free.
Then if the sister in law says no, your wife will be annoyed and maybe stop watching her kid. Or the sister in law says yes and you get some alone time.
Win win.

I like this solution, just depends on whether or not it'll fly.
But like undercoverbrother said...that fight will be mighty hard to win.
Family can really GYG sometimes. My boss got married last year, and both he and his wife wanted a smaller ceremony with no kids at the wedding. So he tells his dad, "I don't want any kids at the wedding, so please tell our relatives not to bring them", and naturally, his parents didn't really like that idea. So then his dad conveniently "forgets" to convey that message, and lo and behold, they "couldn't possibly" leave the kids at home, because the flights were booked, blah blah blah.
Moral of the story...when it comes to family, often times, you're damned if you do, and damned if you don't.

The real question is why didn't your boss do the invitations? Were there no formal invitations sent out that could have included the line "No Children" in some form that would be less likely to offend people?

Like the day I found out my girlfriend was an Oilers fan. Eberle jersey and everything.
Really makes you re-evaluate the relationship. That was some Dr Phil stuff there.

My first wife was an Oilers fan. My second wife is a Flames fan and was born in Calgary. All is right in the world now.

This has got 'bad ending' written all over it. You're going to be pissed that they're not paying, your wife is going to get pissed that she's working 50% harder, and the in-laws are going to get pissed when Little Johnny comes home and says a swear word.
This situation is asking for trouble. IMHO, you'd be wise to find a way to kill it before it causes a big fight. The day the sis brings over the kid and he's sick, and it causes all of you to get sick, or some such thing, the sh*t storm will hit land. Your wife and her sister might end up in a big, female fight. You might as well be the bad guy right now and put a stop to it before you have to deal with a woman who is going stir crazy, that's also in a big fight with her sister. These are problems you just don't want. Be the a-hole. Now. Tell the sis to F.O. Take up Scientology. Move to the NE. Anything to get the sis to not want her kid over there all day. There will be zero winners. Better to duke it out while it's a small problem.

People that wash their hands too furiously. There's no need to crank the taps full blast while excessively slapping your mitts together. Splashing water everywhere outside the sink, on the wall, mirror and the floor.

Pizza chains that have you phone a call centre and then the call centre can't keep up with the volume of calls, so then you end up waiting for awhile.
There's no way quickly phoning for a pizza should prompt an option of "If you're tired of waiting, you can press 2 and get a call back when an agent becomes available".
You're not a bank or insurance company, F that noise. I could have driven the 5 minutes to the location and placed my order before you clowns got to my call....literally.
The worst part is, you pick up your pizza and there's like 7 employees hanging out and phones right there, but nope, gotta wait in line with hundreds of other callers across western Canada so they can save a buck!

I don't under why whole bean coffee doesn't come in resealable bags. They have resealable bags for virtually everything under the sun, but coffee? No, it's either nothing or some lame twist tie thats part of the bag, but doesn't keep the bag sealed. Usually I just end using a giant bag clip, but I just don't get why the coffee industry hasn't caught on.
