With the cap going down its unlikely that we'll see that kind of big ticket trade and especially with Loungo's length of deal and his growing reputation as being unable to win the big game.
The only way that Loungo is getting moved is if the Nucks are willing to pick up another teams bad contract.
they won't need a bad contract because at worse they can put him on waivers to be picked up
I don't think the return will be big
pick/prospect most likely whereas Schnieder would get a top young top 6 player + due to age
but they won't take a bad contract back
the cap is down for 1 year, after next season it probably goes up 4-5m again
This is a perfect example how not battle ready the sister's are that they would have to be traded together.
AV depends no relies on getting on the PP to get these 2 pillow soft twins going. Which is why he schools the roster on diving and embellishment. If VAN does not succeed in getting plenty of PP time they are dead in the water.
Possibly the 2 most pampered players in the NHL are the Sedins they have to play together, they had to be drafted together, they have to be traded together. These 2 seriously are a poor example as men.
Honestly if you want to nullify the Sucks just punish Burrows and the Twins will cave in on their own because they look for Burrows to provide the spark.
This series is fantastic including the media having to eat their own words about VAN and "Beast Mode" lmao.
Unfortunately, Alain Vigneault is going to probably lose his job because Hansen could not hit an empty net, and Schneider lets in two routine shots.
I hate the Canucks, but I can't help but feel bad for Vigneault. Good guy.
a contender that goes out too early this season is going to probably fire their coach when they normally wouldn't have because they can replace him with AV
Big cry fest by Ferraro on the Team1040 right now. Poor guy. Can't wait until Hughson is on!

I think that the Canucks should trade Schnieder if they want to get better. They could get a solid top 6 guy for him. The reason you keep Luongo is that over the next 5 years your team is on the decline which matches up well with where the rest of the team is headed. So if you are trying to maximize your chance of winning a cup in your window you trade schnider for help now and worry about your goalie of the future in the future.
If you get another scorer to help Kesler on the second line they would be a lot better off.
I think it's too late to trade Schnieder and keep Luongo. Luongo wants out and Gillis made it perfectly clear in the off season that he's not their #1 goalie.
he was probably blubbering away in his motel room lastnight curled up in a ball. "Beast Mode, beast mode...but why couldn't Kesler go Beast Mode"
I loved the elevation of Kesler with AV talking about feeding him raw meat blah blah blah.
For the most part Kesler is off more then on against tough teams. Nobody is arguing that he isn't a good player, but he racks up a lot more points and accolades against weak teams then strong teams. But he's never been consistent when it matters.
In the Cup final year he was very good for nearly a round and a half but fell apart as he got closer to the cup.
He's had a good half game in this series.
He's not getting younger and he just looks like a player thats physically breaking down, the Canucks really need to move him this summer.

Not sure why they would trade Kessler? Top 6 centers do not grow on trees. He is the only physical center they have in the system.
He dives a lot, but i put that blame on the Sedin sisters for introducing that to the environment. My bet if he was on another team, that the new team would not allow it and he would stop doing it. Get rid of the diving and i would love for him to be a flame.
If they are going to retool this team, I sure hope it's being done by the jackarse that brought us the Ballard/Grabner trade, the Hodgson/Kassian trade and the Booth acquisition.
They'll probably deal a goalie, use a couple compliance buy outs and then go swimming in the FA waters. Hopefully get themselves right back into cap hell with this years mediocre free agent pool.

I think the diving really got out of control when Luongo was made captain...he was always a flopper in the crease...perhaps once he was seen as the leader, others followed suit...maybe its just coincidence, I have no idea.

I'm not sure that you will be able to call him a top 2 center for much longer, that's why I would move him out, right now in stock market terms he's probably at the top of the value list.
He's missed some pretty significant injury time, he's inconsistent.
Also he's part of a core that is showing that its time for a significant change if they go out in the next game. The Canucks hit their highest point two years ago and have seen a significant slide in the regular season and playoffs since then.
Their success has been disguised by an incredibly weak division.
