People in the other thread are complaining how the it's now "cliche" and annoying for the show to kill off likable characters...How are they going to feel after Tywin and Jon*? haha
*still not "fully" dead?

I took it as he wants him to get out of the castle to have an "accident" riding a horse or something.

Yea and somebody else mentioned how poison was a woman's weapon as well.. and they specifically showed us Oberyn's squire wiping down his blade with a cloth, which some might take as polishing..
I waited a long time for that scene and they did not disappoint. Although it sucks to see my favourite character gone, at least I knew it was coming. I think they totally nailed the scene.
I love all the reactions in the book thread, the rage is just priceless.
Can't wait to see some Giants riding Mammoths next week.

I thought the way they handled the Jorah betrayal reveal was terrible. Some random kid just shows up with a copy of King Robert's pardon and gives it to Barristan? How lazy was that?

my favorite reaction in the book thread is that based on previews next week is an episode at that wall "and those are the worst"
followed by Because the only scenes more tedious than Wall scenes are the ones with Stannis
...

Awesome episode with a whole lot of things happening. The crew that watches the show at my place every Sunday (some book readers, some not) were very happy with the episode. I think it was maybe the best one of the season so far.
I wonder if Arya will leave the hound in ep. 10? She has been with him far longer than in the books I believe. I would like to see her get her Bravos story going next season. Cat of the Canals are some of my favorite chapters in the books.

No way that Jon is dead, it's not Martin's style. Every single other major character's death has had zero ambiguity to it, plus there's still the "Jon is a Targaryen #######" plot line that he hasn't done anything with

Jon is dead but will be brought back by Melisandre.

What if Jon comes back as a white walker and goes from that perspective? Just thought of that so I'm sure maybe a million reasons why it wouldn't be feasible, but could be neat.

My predictions are as follows:
Jon is brought back by Melisandre - she knows he's the real deal and not Stannis.
Stannis is cast aside - probably burned to death.
Jon and Danerys hook up and invade King's Landing together.
Bran becomes good enough to warg into the dragons and helps with the assault.

the questioning of any fallout from the RW in the book thread is great too
everyone wondering where Edmure or Blackfish is
LS showing up right at the end of the finale would be great, I really hope it happens

My thoughts exactly. The books pound in the idea that the "dragon has three heads" so I would imagine we will see three prominent characters in addition to the three actual dragons.
Theories on Aegon though? Is he legit? An imposter? I tend to believe he is the real deal and would be the third head (Danerys, Jon, Aegon) with Brandon as a supporter with the ability to warg.

I can't wait for George to completely destroy our theory by killing every single person we listed.

Don't forget about Hodor! He's somehow tied into this.

Yup. He will have to tell the HBO folks how this is all going to go down (roughly at least) as they will surpass the books pretty quick here.
Then we can have the show "spoiled" for us and get to read about it all in much great depth and prose later, with never ending descriptions of clothing, food, and dongs.

Still better than trying to read Robert Jordan's prose about how women think and act.
EDIT: Nynaeve sniffed.
