Wouldn't be worth the cost honestly, you're talking 3+ 1st rounders at a minimum.

OUr 26 1st shouldn't be in play at all until we see what the season looks like.

I’d guess:

Edmonton
Winnipeg
Ottawa
Buffalo
Columbus
Minnesota

Maybe swap Minnesota for Anaheim or Utah.

What do you mean it would be dangerous? They would not give up the picks if it wasn't successful.

I doubt he has them on there - he'd play the odds it's very unlikely the Flames would ever trade him to one of those locations (maybe less so Vancouver).

My guess would be that 5 of them are Buffalo, Winnipeg, Utah, Chicago, Ottawa, and maybe Columbus.

He’d probably wouldn’t bother having Edmonton on there

Give me a 3 year bridge please and we can chat again when the cap is $115M.

He doesn't need to trade them this season. They are more attractive to other teams with less term. Why the rush for this season? It's not an extraordinary draft or anything.

Is it all about the money or the fit for the player? 8x8 is a pretty sweet deal for a guy barely in his 20s.

No rush for this season but Kadri and Coleman are always a sub par season from having negative value. I wouldn't take them into next year if there's value now or this offseason.

I doubt the offers on Kadri's contract are great, and Coleman is the type of player teams want as a rental, not as a year and a half guy.

Maybe they will have great years up to next years TDL and get a haul? Every consider that?

I'd offer him the max in the 3rd highest bracket.

Compensation at that bracket is 1st + 2nd + 3rd.
It's one 1st and we still have another from VGK.

Currently the max amount at that bracket is $9,161,834, but I'm assuming it would be going up next season with the cap.

It will probably be around $9,942,672.

I'd offer him $9,942,672 x 8 years and it would cost 1st + 2nd + 3rd.

The chances of the flames drafting a better player then him next season is very slim.

The guys a stud, is exactly what we need and would go 1st OA in a 2021 redraft.

Dangerous as we'd be out first round picks which could be very high.

Only way you do is if you get more than current comparable players are currently making.

If your comparable is making $6 mil, I'm not signing for $6.5 mil. Needs to be between $7 mil and $8 mil.

It's going to be interesting who gets what in the next couple of summers and who gets the bridge deal vs long term deal.

That's why if I'm Conroy and if I can get struggling young players who are signed long term or are RFAs this summer having a bad year, it might be a great way to use the cap space that he has now and set himself up in a year or 2 with cheap contracts.

With the rumors of a lot of players being reached out to for the Sabres, I wonder what the asking price is on Alex Tuch. He's the player I want.

For Sharks news: 6 + teams have called about Mario Ferraro. Sharks asking price hasn't been met yet. Nico Sturm is all but gone by Friday. Toronto among others reached out on Kunin. Asking price hasn't been met yet either.

Tuch would be a tough move for Buffalo I think as he seems to be a guy that actually wants to be there.

Unfortunately, if the offer sheet is more than 5 years, you take the total value and divide by 5.

So, you're easily in the 4 first round pick land.

Eric Francis brought up Kunin as a potential Flames target out of the blue on Saturday during the intermission. Raised my eyebrows a bit.

Because he's just 21, and getting better every year there's no reason for him to sign that contract when the cap is going up significantly. Its no Klingberg situation.
