It’s like if Canada elected Theo Fleury to office.

Come to think of it… Don Cherry would be Canada’s Donald Trump?

Yikes.

Target gives into right wing bullies to try and keep their employees safe.

Disagree with that tweet if the real reason is safety of the employees. If people are coming in and harassing workers and throwing the stuff around - then I understand the call.

I guess you could hire a bunch of security to deal with it but its a business and most of the workers just don't want to deal with a bunch of nutjobs running around screaming at them all day.

watching a huge country like the US hurting itself from within with such a stupid culture war is fascinating and terrifying at the same time.

Every inch given is another loss of progress.

If these fascists can bully and terrorize everyone else to get their way instead of, you know, being held to the legal standards of society (eg. being arrested for threatening staff instead of companies capitulating to threats) then there are far worse things coming on the horizon.

That's what standing up to oppression looks like, though. It's not all scarves and bunny hugs. Put up signs saying there is zero tolerance for abuse, and the second it happens, call police and actually press charges. If you aren't prepared to do that, then ya, your "advocacy" amounts to less than a fart in the wind. You aren't actually helping.

If I'm a person working at Target.. I don't want to be harassed every day so the company can sell shirts.

Selling shirts is about the lowest level of advocacy you can do. I'll draw the line at something more important.

Budweiser I'd put that on a different level since there aren't a bunch of low wage workers taking the brunt of the protest.

People are upset that these companies are promoting trans life styles (with that pesky 41% suicide rate) to children. The articles and headlines have a funny way of dancing around that little detail. Parents are willing to die on that hill (so their kids don't) and it appears so are progressives. The number of kids identifying as trans is going up exponentially (I wonder why?), but getting that suicide rate to budge is proving to be extraordinarily difficult. They'll probably figure it out someday, right? It's only someone else's kid.

Maybe if ####faces treated them like humans instead of #### cookies they'd not feel hopeless and commit suicide? Just a thought.

oh stop the BS for once. Trans kids do not have a 41% suicide rate, that figure comes from a survey done 8 years ago among trans people who were asked if they had ever attempted or thought of suicide. That obviously does not equate to a "41% suicide rate", but why bother with facts when fighting a "lifestyle", right?

My adopted is trans, the reason more kids are coming out as trans or gay is because they dont get the living #### kicked out of them anymore and that's a good thing, I dont know what my kids pathway will be but I will walk it with her.

20 years ago she likely would have not come out as trans as her life would have been hell, she may well have still committed suicide but just would just have been counted as another 'ordinary' suicide, identifying as trans isnt why people kill themselves, people kill themselves because they are profoundly depressed and dont see any way relieving that pain, some are trans some are straight, it would be foolish not to see that many many trans people suffer from depression and mental health issues but if you beat the living tar out of them every day at school to make them wear clothing you think is appropriate it doesnt make them any less depressed or likely to kill themselves, it just changes the statistical entry, it is a basic cause verses symptom fallacy
