Lol, so thanks to that stupid CNN Townhall, Trump is getting sued again by E. Jean Carroll.
Quote:
E. Jean Carroll, the columnist who won a $5 million sexual abuse and defamation award against former President Donald Trump, is seeking at least $10 million more in a new court filing Monday that seeks to hold him liable for remarks he made after the verdict.
Is there a limit to the number of times a moron can be sued for repeating the same sh1t about the same person? We know he’ll do it again if he loses again.
I don't think so but one lawyer I heard said it's diminishing returns.. The judgment is based on the damages. So the jury would decide how much the damages are between time frame the last trial covered and the next trial covered. He said it would be harder to show any kind of significant damages, and the punitive amount is a percentage of damages, so they couldn't award $5,000 damages and $5M punitive.
And I don't think she can recover legal fees so it quickly becomes a losing proposition. Not to mention the hassle. It's probably pretty disruptive to one's life.
Unless someone rich is funding the legal fees and you REALLY want to just keep suing him over and over.

It's all over for Kari "Fake" Lake and her election loss battle in Arizona.
Quote:
PHOENIX (AP) — A judge on Monday dismissed the only remaining legal claim in Republican Kari Lake’s challenge of her loss in last year's race for Arizona governor, affirming the election of Democrat Katie Hobbs.
Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Peter A. Thompson said Lake failed to prove her claim that Maricopa County did not verify signatures on mail ballots as required by law.
Quote:
Earlier this month, the court sanctioned Lake’s lawyers $2,000 for making false statements when saying that more than 35,000 ballots had been improperly added to the total count.

E. Jean Carroll was worth about $5m before the judgement, this is a women out for revenge and she's getting it.
I dunno, they've been playing this game as long as I can remember(going back to the Bush Jr years), I still don't think anyone is crazy enough to see it through.

You can exhaust $5M in legal fees pretty fast, but there was some talk that her legal effort was being funded by someone else, so revenge (or negative publicity) may be at the root of it yeah.

June 1 was the most recent date I'd heard, but the deadline is an estimate only. Yellen said "early June", and when asked if she thought they could make it to June 15 when more tax payments are due she said the possibility is "quite low."

The freedom caucus with their aggressive stupidity probably changes things from how it was before.

That sounds an awful lot like "I'm going to walk towards you and swing my arms around like this don't blame me if you get hit...
Such a bizarre country where states legalize weed, but federally it's illegal. Soon we'll have gay marriage legal at the state level, but illegal federally.
A parent of two students at the Bob Graham Education Center in Miami Lakes challenged five books, including Gorman’s, per The New Republic.
The person argued that the poem contains "indirect hate messages" and causes confusion and indoctrination, per documents shared by the Florida Freedom to Read Project.
