As for Ferdinand, who knows, maybe he slept with a teammates wife....
No...that still gets you on the team.
Well, maybe hes got a cocaine addiction....no, that still gets you on the team too.
Maybe hookers? No, pretty sure thats okay too.
Yeah, I wonder what hes done......

The question has to be asked though that isn't calling up Jordan freakin Henderson representative of as extreme a situation as you can possibly have?
It's because it makes perfect sense to replace an injured centre-back with a right back.
|
Jordan Henderson was on the sub list though. Of course he is going to be asked before someone who isn't on that list.
This is all Woy's fault anyway for alienating some of the better players. Glen Johnson is a good RB, and he deserves to be on the team, but I still think that Micah Richards should be starting ahead of him. Carrick also should have been included from the start. If those two things had happened then England wouldn't be getting in to asking these players who are further down their list of options.

I watched all 90 minutes of that match and I dont hesitate to use the term 'bossed' one bit.
Possession is irrelevant, but if they play like that against a talented team that could break them down they'd have slaughtered.

I don't think England played well by any stretch but don't think Belgium played that well either. The reason I was against the use of bossed is that it gives too much credit to Belgium who basically did nothing that game.
I guess the good thing for England is it appears there are only 3 teams in the tournament that qualify as talented so if they can avoid Germany, Spain and Holland for the first part of the tournament they should be okay against the other crap teams.

isn't Belgium the definition of a talented squad?! Hazard, Fellaini, Lukaku, Chadli, Dembele, Witsel, Vertonghen, Vermaelen ... a young and talented group. Not great yet, but they could easily qualify for 2014. Not defending England though, the game was pretty weak. But France had a weak game against Iceland too ... will be pretty interesting.

Belgium and Serbia will both qualify for the 2016 euro cup no doubt in my mind.

Yeah....thats Liverpool's fault.
|
you say bossed yet England had probably the 4 or 5 best chances in the game on the counter, it's how they wanted (and because of injuries/suspensions) and how they have to play it now
sit back and counter with the front 4
it's what Spain do and it's won them two tournaments, they haven't allowed a goal in the last two knockout rounds and it's not because they attack so much

Supposedly the feed TSN showing is the BBC feed and not the international one, hope they pick up the BBC in studio and now have their own as well

Does this mean we get Martin Tyler? Because that would be awesome. I believe he hasn't been part of whatever Canadian coverage we get since 2004 EURO.

He works for Sky, and they don't have any coverage of the tournament
in the UK it's split between BBC and ITV
If the feed does turn out to be the international one it's probably him

It's not BBC.
Luke Wileman @LukeWileman
@AndyPereira1986 I don't know Andy. We're taking the UEFA world feed, so likely some of the usual guys that do the big tournaments
Also Darren Anderton will be joining Jason Devos in the TSN studio.

But he hasn't been on the international feed or whatever feed TSN/Sportsnet/CBC have used for the last couple of major tourneys.

The real question is: How many games does John Helm get?
I for one believe we should start a petition to have him do every single Greece game.

Couple of people have asked me to come up with a little picking game for the European Championships... since I seem to be the creator of little picking games
So here's an easy one.
Predict the final standings of the 16 teams qualified for the Euro 2012. Pick the 4 teams that will lose in Quarter-finals, the 2 teams that will lose in Semi-finals, the Runner-Up and Winner.
PM me your picks in the following format:
QF: TeamA, TeamB, TeamC, TeamD
SF: TeamE, TeamF
RU: TeamG
W: TeamH
Points are allocated as follows.
Code:
1 2 SF QF
1 500 200 75 20
2 200 300 100 25
SF 75 100 200 50
QF 20 25 50 100
How's that sound?
