Lol okay, save this post and come back to it when Weegar is in the last year of his deal. The Flames will still be irrelevant - that much is guaranteed -, and Weegar will have already been traded for peanuts (at his request) or marketed as a UFA bait piece like Tanev.
Worst case, he's the same old man still playing top pairing minutes at 300 years old for a 70 point team with no elite talent because this franchise is cursed.

You don't know the future. But you double down on your stupid predictions as if they had already happened.

So Weegar is an old man now, and will be 300 years old in the last year of his contract? And you positively guarantee that the Flames will be a 70-point team that year? And that they will not get any elite talent in the next seven drafts?
Find somebody who deserves your hate. Your foaming at the mouth is wasted on hockey.

Probably mentioned earlier, but the NHL and their scheduling is just brutal. First we had a week off. Then in the finals we move to a few three day breaks? If this goes 7, we’re looking at June 24 to wrap up the season. That’s just insane.

Tkachuk was invisible in game 1, really a non factor, he just doesn’t have the speed.

Which Oilers a$$hat said, "they are a good team, we are a great team"? They deserve to fail miserably. Zero respect for their opposition. Two 30 second mentions of the Panthers, one minor mention of Barkov. Go Panthers.

Yeah, last night the Panthers were “propelled” by Bobrovski and the first line (especially Barkov). The “generational talent” wasn’t very impactful.

It's like the Oilers intimidate him. This is now 5 straight playoff games against the Oilers where he has been totally invisible.

Mcdavid was shocked at the questions about his suit as it is edmonton tradition to just wear the same clothes for weeks on end.
Once an edmontonian always an edmontonian.

Bob was definitely the difference in Game 1.
Oilers had plenty of chances, but Bob shut the door.
Will be interesting to see what adjustments the Panthers make on Monday, because the Oilers played better than I expected.
I thought the refs were consistent (loose) and were letting both teams play without calling a ton of penalties.
Ended up being 5-4 with the number of calls favoring the Oilers, but yeah there were missed calls on both teams.
Huge game on Monday and I’m hoping that the Panthers can maintain home ice and limit the number of breakaways and prime chances.

Taking a while to get to 5000

I was pretty bothered by the "how do they beat Bobrovsky" narrative that SN ran with. Charts, asking Gretzky, overall discussion. Given the coverage to this point it legit felt like an entire network trying to do their best to give the Oilers the edge. I know that's ridiculous, and obviously there is nothing they can provide that the Oilers scouting staff wouldn't already know but still. Felt sleazy.
This isn't an impartial national broadcast when it should be. And it really showed last night

Panthers have the best goalie, best defenceman, best centre and best winger. And better depth.

GOAT!

I wonder if Tkachuk is hurt? He played 26 shifts last night, which is very close to what the other top Panthers played, except his minutes were only 5th most among forwards. ~13 total, ~11 at 5v5. Lots of under 20secs shifts. His last three shifts were 19, 10 and 9 seconds (in that order). There was 27 seconds left in the game when he came off after being out there for 9 seconds.

Probably because the Panthers were up and mcdavid was being double shifted and Maurice didn't want him on the ice against mcdavid.
He was trying to get barkov on the ice against mcdavid and Tkachuk looked ineffective last night.

Bobrovsky had a great first, but I think it's a fallacy to say the Oilers dominated that game.

Bob made the saves he needed to, but he didn’t have to make many 5 star saves. Many of the shots were from the perimeter or hit him in the logo.
