Random Twitter death threats to MT are next, that billboard will be vandalized, shot at and/or attempted to be burned down, etc in the next two weeks, especially since the media up there continues to ramble on on about this because they know they have Pavlovian fans who are triggered by any morsel of news.

Ok. I could never be bothered to watch an Oilers broadcast, but are you guys telling me they are still talking about this? They're playing Nashville tonight and they're still talking about the game they lost on Saturday?
At least half of both intermissions and many random times during play.
I just learned that Zack Kassian was a first round pick. 13th overall in fact. What a waste of a first rounder. For comparisons sake the 14th pick that year was dman Dmitri Kulikov who has more career points. The Buffalo Sabres really are the Oilers of the East.
It does explain Kassian's strange attitude. Between his draft status and jamming in McDavid set ups he really does think he is a star on the level of Tkachuk.

Kassian was drafted right at the start of the end of the era where dopey teams were still picking guys based on fighting skill and size. Took a few years for it to stop completely (see the Flames picking Hunter Smith in the 2nd round in 2014).
Imagine the CP reaction if some Flame (Glencross would have seemed a likely candidate) would have grabbed Burrows and beat the living ##### out of him?
Tkachuk has to learn how to turtle better? His being rag-dolled has a high risk factor of injury.
Any NHL player running taking runs has to be aware that there should be pushback coming no matter how legal the hit may be.

He was aware. That’s why he was targeting him in the first place. To draw a penalty.

Next you are going to say he enjoyed being smashed about and his plan was to hurt Kassian's knuckles.
If he was aware of the possibility that Kassian was going try to light him up he either should be in a position to tie up Kassian's arms or go full turtle.
The Flames front has been very quiet. Besides the Tkachuk interview yesterday, I haven't heard a thing from guys like Lucic or anyone else for that matter.
We seem to be hearing a lot from the Oiler's side (granted the story being pushed by the media) but it seems really weird.

Anyone hear anything from the Flames camp?
Nope, but part of me thinks that the Flames realize that this is professional hockey not stampede wrestling like the Oilers think it is.
I believe that the coaching staff or Brad has put the clamp on talking about this.
I'm sure the leaders of the team have talked to the rest of the players about focusing on hockey while Lucic and Rinaldo have probably stated that they've got their backs.
Focus on hockey and gameplans, not the stupidity and unprofessional conduct of the Oilers organization and the press.

It's quiet because it's honestly not a big deal at all. Kassian and primarily the Edmonton media have blow this way out of proportion, and are being whiny bitches about it.
The time for Flames to make comments about it was post game, where there was some. And then they left it at that and moved on. Because it what Tkachuk did was called playing hockey.
I think it is funny because honestly, the flames being so quiet is probably a bit of a troll to the Oilers media and fans. It isn't a big deal, I am sure the team 100% supports Tkachuk and what he did, ie threw some big time hits in a rivalry game and helped the team win, in a legal manner. Screw the code, I don't think he broke it anyway, but what do I know since I've never stepped into a professional rink or locker room as a player.
Kassian is a plug, use this and move on. I am proud to be a fan of this team, they are very professional compared to those homers up north. Love it.

Wills just tweeted out there is now audio from flames players, Lucic, rinaldo and others that they'll do what is needed to stand up for teammates. Just saw the tweet haven't heard myself

I think you have the ability to be the next Eric Francis - always trying to find the contrarian view and stir the pot even if there is no basis or truth for it
