If I know the Flames, they’ll score a late one here to give us hope and the give up an empty netter.

To call an embellishment is one thing, but for the ref to take a power trip and kick Gaudreau out is laughable. Grow a thicker skin you #####.
|
The thing about embellishments is that they're conscious decisions in response to some prior event, so, on a slow-mo replay, there's an obvious delay. That wasn't there on the high stick - Johnny's head movement was an immediate, reflexive response to actually getting hit.

Gaudreau got the misconduct for banging the glass with his stick.
Quote:
Intentionally bangs the boards or protective glass or goal frame with his stick or any other object at anytime. If done in protest of an officials’ decision, an additional minor penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct shall also be assessed.

The problem isn't GG. It's something else (according to GioforPM)

Plus Johnny already took a skate to the neck this game.

He didn't get an additional minor though. He got 10.

All they have to do is call the rule book.
Why do they “manage the game”, what a ridiculous concept.

Gulutzan talks repeatedly about building goals. That is why he rolls lines seeming regardless of game situation. He believes each line helps to build goals.

I strongly agree with your general point. But you can't call embellishment for flinching and carrying on with the play. That goes against anything you would ever want to teach or coach a player to do. Calling a dive on someone who obviously followed through on the play and didn't go down is a disgrace to sport.
