Ok, I know the refs aren't the reason the Flames are losing, and I don't want to use that as an excuse by any means...but holy smokes, the officiating is absolutely atrocious tonight. Just a complete f'n joke.

I'm flabbergasted by that call. He didn't leave his feet. it is absurd for him to be called for embelishment. I'm not one to blame the refs but that's an example of someone making themselves the focus of the game. Unacceptable incompetence. And one where frankly the Gm or Burke needs to come out and take a fine to show that they've got their players' backs.

Would definitely be tempted to take my team and just leave after that kind of stuff. Penalize us, fine, then reschedule the game. Not like it was being played on even terms to begin with.

I think Johnny did react to the stick coming near him, but after getting hit close to his neck with a stick after getting cut with a skate blade... I'd say that's a standard reaction.

To call an embellishment is one thing, but for the ref to take a power trip and kick Gaudreau out is laughable. Grow a thicker skin you #####.

I looked it up a few weeks ago when I was curious how much EPL officials make. Turns out NHL refs are the highest paid officials of all professional sports. They’re a ####ing joke.

If you have GCL or CI and you watch other games you will find out the officiating is like that nightly in all games. It is just so ridiculously bad that the game isn't really decided by team talent anymore, the officials dictate the games.
