I was quite shocked to see how empty Sorokoski's site was. It read like "Oh, people kept asking questions when I was door knocking! I better put some quick responses up!" There was so many "there are many things to deal with" endings to his answers that made it pretty irritating to read.
Frisch at least seems to be willing to be transparent and tries to make it clear he does not want to appear to be bought by developers. Anyway, regardless of if Frisch is a better candidate of not for my vote...I can't vote for DCU because she gets stuck on some things and never lets them go, to the point of hurting her image in the process. The manager overtime from the flood is a great example of something I think she never should have pushed. Why did she think this was okay to claw back the money? Why did she need the names of the managers who received overtime pay as specified in their contracts?
Also...why does she never answer emails when they are in opposition to subjects she supports?

Yeah, Ward 13 and Ward 10 have been disappointing at least a couple times in a row now with no one really challenging the polarizing incumbent. In Ward 10 it's Chabot versus a holistic healer (same one as last time, his only opponent in 2010) and a clearly underfunded also-ran.

Oh, believe me I'd spoil the ballot before voting for her! I have tried to get a meeting with her for a few reasons over the past few years (legitimate, and not just bitch sessions) and she was 'too busy'. I wanted to talk Lake Fraser Gate a few years ago, and about some community matters here as well. She is completely useless.

I miss Calgary. Edmonton's election is tomorrow. I am in ward 8. My candidates are john Jackson, jack Johnson, a mysogynist that took it to the next level, a freemen on the land an a professional facepainter.
Edit: turns out candidate 3 & 4 are running joke platforms. Not 'ha ha' jokes but 'I want to ruin your day' jokes. Lady Dolphin is a legit candidate.

Nenshi being very ministerial on twitter tonight.
Not a great ambassador for this city.
https://twitter.com/nenshi/status/392152650302902272
Why does he feel the need to be on twitter at all hours of the day and pick fights with people?
I think twitter is a great platform for politicians to engage with their electorate, but Nenshi takes things too far.

You know, I thought about it. 1stLand is right, if Nenshi is reelected then God will be mad. And he is mad enough as it is.

Prediction time!
Naheed Nenshi
Chris Harper
Shawn Ripley
Jim Stevenson
Gael MacLeod (gonna be close with Chu)
Ray Jones
Richard Pootmans
Druh Farrell (going to be the closest race out there, Alexander siphoning votes away from Druh)
John Mar (but Woolley is going to put in a better showing than Pashak in 2010)
Gian-Carlo Carra
Andre Chabot
Brian Pincott (maybe not as close as many think)
Shane Keating
Diane Colley-Urquhart
Peter Demong

Feeling about the same on ward 13, can't stand DCU's constant grandstanding & double talk. Yet neither Adam or Scott have really indicated they have much of a plateform beyond "I'm going to listen to residents".
At this point I'm likely to go with Scott over Adam just because he seems to be a little more with it than Adam. Just in that his campaign notes were a little more fleshed out than "DCU Bad, vote for me"

I agree with your predictions. I voted for Woolley, but Mar will probably get back in.

Gael McLeod was an invisible alderman last term without a firm stand on anything. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Sean Chu looks like a no better candidate, unfortunately. Too bad for Ward 4. Same for John Mar vs. Evan Woolley - either option is bad.

Cannot stand Ward Sutherland. Voting for Chris Harper

Roughly what time should we expect results to start coming in tonight? I'm going to be out of town (voted in the advance polls), but I'd still like to see the results come in online as I watch some hockey.

Polls close at 8, so they probably call the election for Nenshi at roughly 8:01! Results should come in slowly, but around the same time as the puck drops and into the later night depending on the race and how close some are.

There should be a website that will show all the polls as they start reporting in, I remember watching it like crazy in 2010! Trying to find the link now (if it is up yet).

Is certainly is a split.
90/10 is still technically a split...

I hope 1stLand makes a statement by voting for Lord instead of Nenshi.
That'll show 'em.

Ugh, I want to vote for Alexander in Ward 8 because I do think he has the best platform, but I definitely do not want Taylor to win. It's too close with Farrell and him I think...contemplating strategic voting...how do I reconcile this since I hated the NDP+Liberals doing it nationally...

I'm not 100% pro-Farrell either, but would prefer her to Taylor. So my vote went Farrell.

I know Evan Woolley on a personal level and he is a stand up guy. If you're in Ward 8 consider voting for him.
