Really that annoyed you? Do fans not remember how great it was to be Canada's team in 2004, and the red mile experience?
I hope the flames make a plaza with the new stadium, so it can be full when the flames make it back to the playoffs and the Stanley Cup.
Its great that fans were so into the teams playoff run, and especially that they managed to gather and watch the games without rioting.
But CBC doesn't have to pan to them after every Leafs goal and commercial break. We get it - there are fans outside in Toronto. It was overkill.
Also man does Jim Reimer flop a lot. Looked like Luongo going for a swim on pretty much every Bruins goal. It took the B's a while to start shooting high but it worked.

Are you saying he was or wasn't injured when the puck hit him on the inside of his knee, dropped to the ice and hobbled off. Then went to the dressing room to get checked out, then came back to finish the game?
I'm equally glad his cap hit and attitude are elsewhere btw.

I also have to laugh that all the Leafs fans I was with were debating whether they would rather play the Rangers or Capitals in the second round at the start of the third.
They decided they would rather play New York.

The Leafs may have got away with more of the so-so plays (but that seems like a stretch considering the way the Bruins played) the two biggest and most obvious no calls were the hit from behind and Kelly elbow.
The refs let a ton go on both sides but hard to see how those two calls weren't made when they were so obvious.
Don't remember the hit from behind but that elbow would have never happened if they would have called the interference on Van Riemsdyk that put them both on the ice in the first place. Puck wasn't near the Bruin and he was taken down. Off-setting penalties at worse.

The elbow wouldn't have happened if the interference didn't happen first? Do you know how silly that sounds?
The refs let an inference happen, they let it slide, it happens... But a blatant elbow shouldn't have been let go either.

Silly argument.
If the Bruins player knows there is a penalty I don't think he throws the elbow out of frustration.
It was as much of a blatant interference as the blatant elbow. Refs let things slide for both teams. I thought they favored the Leafs in the game. Lots of missed interference calls.

In fairness, the 04 Flames support grew in line with the progress of the team, subsequent years attempts to capture the red mile starting in the first round were forced and the team died first round deaths. Toronto's support reminded me of 06 Calgary more so than 04.
Reimer on the game winner looked like Joey MacDonałd.
I felt bad for him because he left it all on the ice. Really thought he was going to shoot straight to the top and stay there, like Felix Potvin
So glad to see the Leafs lose and in painstaking fashion. Too bad this song wasn't played on the loud speaker at Maple Leaf Square. Once again, Leafs fall in spring.
What a crushing result for the Leafs and their fans. That sucks.
They're an exciting, fast team. I enjoyed watching them and was looking forward to another round of it. Can't believe that I left for work with 5 minutes left and that was the end result. What a bummer!

It's for the best the Leafs lost and not just because I hate them but for fans of other teams and the rest of the playoffs. TSN and HNIC were getting carried away with the Leafs coverage and if they got into the 2nd round the other three series would be treated like footnotes. I mean the Senators got into the 2nd round but they weren't getting mentioned while Sportsdesk was devoting it's first 5 minutes every day to the Leafs.

Same narrative in 1993. Ron MacLean could not hide his excitement for a potential Montreal/Toronto finals.
As a Leafs fan I can say honestly I hate you hockey. Why must you continually torture us Leafs fans? What must we do to appease you? All I can say is DEATH TO THE BOSTON BRUINS!!!!!!!!
