When it happened, Hughson more or less said people in Vancouver would be looking at that hit and wondering why it's not a penalty, because it was worse than the Sedin hit.
I don't think it should have been a 5, but it definitely should have been a 2 IMO.

I guess you weren't around during the Gilmour years when they were so full of how awesome Toronto was they started calling themselves "Canada's Team".
They aren't annoying because they've sucked for the better part of a decade. If they had won tonight, CBC/TSN/SN would have gone into full blown fellatio mode for the next 18 months minimum.
Bad enough we have their ass hockey jammed down the entire English speaking side of the country every single god-damn Sat night. It would be about 1000 times worse if they actually had accomplished something.
I literally received the first Leaf's fan taunting phone call I've heard in 20 years when this game went to 4-1. The moment one of their fans thought this thing was in the bag, they turned on the smug bullhorn.
F them. F their fans. And F the Canadian media. Show me a damn shot of all those losers leaving the plaza already.
1967. Suck it.

Are we actually blaming the refs for missed calls? Even the guys I was watching with who bleed Leaf Blue were mentioning that Toronto was getting away with a lot.
I thought the refs were favoring the Leafs and allowing them a lot of leeway.

He looked pretty bummed coming out of the capsule, figured that was from the stresses of re-entry. Must have been the stresses of being a leafs fan.

Definitely not going to argue that there are a lot of a-holes in that city. Second only to Philly in my experience.

I wasn't blaming the missed call, just explaining what was said about the hit because he didn't get to see it.
I do believe it was a penalty though. There was a lot of missed calls both ways.

The Leafs may have got away with more of the so-so plays (but that seems like a stretch considering the way the Bruins played) the two biggest and most obvious no calls were the hit from behind and Kelly elbow.
The refs let a ton go on both sides but hard to see how those two calls weren't made when they were so obvious.

The leafs circa 1993-2003 were one of the most obnoxious teams and fanbases I can recall. Yes, that includes Vancouver. Pat Quinn's whining about the refs alone makes Kesler seem like a choir boy.
It's even worse when you live in Ontario and have to keep hearing about how badly the leafs ripped off the Flames in the Gilmour & Phaneuf trades.
For the sake of my own sanity, I'm trying not to hate them as much. But to hell with that on this night of nights.
Screw the leafs.

Most devastating loss Game 7 loss since NJ lost Game 7 to CAR with 1:30 to go...up 3-2 with 1:30 to go, lost 4-3, in B Sutter's first season with NJD.
Went to the Dome for the family skate...leaving the car it was 4-2, by the time I got to the ice, it was 4-4.

What's the deal, did the Bruins have some sort of comeback or something?

It was awesome being in a room full of Leafs fans. They went to bed awfully early tonight.
